  1. Stick £1k maximum amount in Gumtree and Autotrader and distance prepared to travel and its surprising what's available out there. I've just sorted out a cheap car for my youngest lad and there was a great choice. Mate bought a Volvo S40 with 12 months tax for £375 and the MOT work had cost £275 the week before. Its still running perfectly two years later!
  2. Hi Rob. Grant Taylor / Oldbutnoslow sorted out a bulkbuy about a month ago on Chitchat. He had sets left so worth contacting regards Nick
  3. Thanks GF. They sound fine for him. Have PM'd contact details for you Thanks Nick

  8. Hi Dominic, Didn't quite manage to draw level with you before you headed off the M60 tonight. Windscreen and no doors on the motorway - hope you didn't get too much spray from the traffic. Car looked great. Cheers Nick

  10. That's more "mileage" than some of my cars do in a year!
  11. Hi Andy, Shame I can't make Cadwell with the N24 trip planned but I will try to get to Oulton later in the year. Great idea to make the trackdays much more of a social event too. Having a meal the night before and spending an evening chatting to friends old and new makes for an even more enjoyable event I think. Cheers Nick
  12. Hi Antony, Thanks for the heads up but managed to obtain a pair just last weekend. Great blog and very useful for ordering some new indicators and repeaters I think Cheers Nick
  13. Hi, i'm after a cheap pair of 7" headlights and shells. It doesn't matter if they are rusty as they are going for powdercoating but preferably not dented and cheap! - Now sorted for the headlights, thanks Christian. Also after a pair of indicator pods too. Thanks Nick
  14. Hi, might be interested at £150 for pair if they are in decent condition and plastic backs not broken. Lack of headrests is the problem as they so expensive to replace and don't come up often/ever secondhand by themselves. Can you send me some pics? thanks nick
  15. Hi Steff, If you can get them to Newcastle-u-Lyme, I'll have all 4 from you. Nick
  16. James - another very easy check on whether you have a metric chassis or not is to look at the chassis bar immediately behind the rear wheel. If it's all round its an imperial chassis, metric chassis has a square front section going to a round tube. With regards an imperial bar fitting a metric chassis, it isn't possible for the reason you have given Nick
  17. Isn't this one of the Caterham vehicles? I can re-collect it being used when the team came to Throckmorton
  18. Hi Neil, We were dropping our eldest lad off at the uni and having a meal in the Laughing Buddha. So if you see a big lad waving at you when you go through the town again, that'll probably be Dominic! Cheers Nick
  19. Orange seven going past Laughing Buddha restaurant on Silver Street. Number plate B1 NAW I think
  20. We are lookng forward to come over to watch this finale and arriving on Friday evening. Will we be able to access the circuit then and how much is entry on the gate, will anyone be there to pay? Thanks Nick
  21. I had a car with 205 tyres on 6" rims that fitted and drove fine
  22. Unlike Paul, I always recommend fitting the windscreen poppers first and middle of the boot working to sides of the car. I have seen a few cars with cracked windscreens when pushing on the corner and trying to fasten the last one or two poppers. Put the hood over a warm bonnet to make it more flexible, slide the hood stick restraining straps sideways so sticks split wider apart and drop down. Fit hood and then slide the straps and they will tension the sticks/hood again with no additional adjustment needed Hth Nick
  23. Blue with black stripes Q plate car enjoying the roads over mountain last night. We had a cracking drive in the golf and we're thinking a blat in the seven would be so much better!
