  1. I assume an LED upgrade is required to prvent the heat from ordinary bulbs (for those who run with their side lights on) melting the mirrored plastic? Mike PS any before and after pics?
  2. I've sent emails+attachments to all those who emailed me Mike
  3. Following on from my previous I've just reread the config sheets and the 2nd one seems to cater for dip switch or input pulses (I didn't look hard enough), so hopefully may do the trick 🤔 Mike
  4. I've got config sheets that relate to using the reset button (for the sensor that lives by the rear wheel) and one for the gearbox sender and where the speedo uses dip switches for the config. I can send them over if you BlatMail me your addess, but I'm not sure they are going to help much Mike
  5. It joined us at Brands Hatch yesterday for our display at the Kentagon. Must confess to not knowing their names however 😳 Mike
  6. Owing to the power of BC, I now have a factory fresh sensor sill in it's original wrapping, if the weather can hold out tomorow, I might even get it fitted and tested! Thanks to all those who replied Mike Edited cos I can't write proper 😔 Edited by - michaeljclark on 6 Jun 2012 21:30:16
  7. Following a failure in the IOM, I'm after one of these. They were supposed to be back in stock with CC last week. Anyone got one (ideally new), or know of another supplier? Mike
  8. *arrowup*Thanks both! Mike
  9. Hopefully someone can assist with info Wings 😳 All my wings are looking a bit "tried" there is chap on PH who has a complete set for sale. Currently I'm running 195/45 R15 on Anthracite 15" 10 spokes on all 4 corners of my 2007 SV. CC only show "Large Radius" rear wings and "Cycle Wings 2009" for the fronts, I was in CC recently and when chatting with the Parts Dept the comment was made that "they only make one type of Wing now" which they means that at some point they made different ones Is there anything specific I need to watch out for 🤔 Thanks Mike
  10. As all my wings are looking a bit tired, I've enquired about the red ones Mike
  11. In my case on route to the IOM Blat, the speedo did this. Then whilst on the IOM the car broke down. The reason was that the wires that run from the speedo sensor to the plug behind the drivers seat had broken down and short circuited thus it blew the instrument fuse, which in turn caused the ECU to shut the Petrol Pump down. I guess the speedo cutting in and out should have given me a clue that the wiring was not at all well or the sensor has moved away from the toothed wheel that Martin mentions - mine also did this a year ago though when I re fitted it it made sure everything was good and tight. Good luck getting it fixed. Mike
  12. Quoting Stationary M25 Traveller: Cross head screw on mine. Same here Mike
  13. Quoting Roger Ford: Of course all I actually need to do is find out the pinout of a standard USB connector - since it must be using the same 5V pins (or it wouldn't work connected to a computer). Is that not detailed in the Wiki page I linked to under the "Physical appearance" section? Mike
  14. The popper on the side skin is held on with a screw on my 7 I unscrewed it and replaced with the SBFS supplied poppers Mike Edited for poor spelling 😔 Edited by - michaeljclark on 12 May 2012 20:33:58
  15. Well here would suggest (to my mind) that the 3rd cable is the "ID" cable and not used - until I looked at Wikipedia I had no idea it was possible for there to be 5 wires in a USB plug. Hopefully the images on the page will help with the pinouts you need Mike Edited by - michaeljclark on 12 May 2012 19:43:49
  16. Having just filled up with 23 litres, I managed 36MPG in the 7 😬, which is 10 better than the tin top Jolly pleased with that, be interested to know how much further the 7 will go, I'm guessing another 60 miles (maybe more but I'll play it safe). Mike.
  17. Quoting Rullingen: Linky not worky ☹️ Try this one here
  18. What you need to do is: Undo the bolt that holds the roll bar to the chassis and remove it and the 2 washers. Now place the ringlet that's in the strap on top of the roll bar and put the bolt back through the washers, the ringlet and the the roll bar. Do up bolt (toque to 20 Nm says manual) - jobs a goodun!! On the build manual I'm looking, the bolt can be seen in the picture in Section 16 (Options) Page 5, Figure 5, item 2 Oxted used my 7 for the pictures and instruction write up, so I hope it's not changed from what Ive just told you. I'm at work tomorrow but you can contact me via my profile if you need more info - I'm about 15/20 mins from Brands so you could always pop over (even thou I won't be there) for a gander, as the 7 lives on the drive. Hope that helps Mike
  19. This is a timely thread as normally I fill it up between 160-180 miles. And am off to the IOM next week. Right now I have 1/8th tank showing on the gauge and 181 miles on the clock . So I shall pay particular interest to see how much I have to feed the tank and work out my MPG. Mike
  20. A long shot this but none the less. Last year on the way to get married, a part of my SBFS Draft reducer was "removed" from the car whilst I stopped at a service station 😔. Specifically the bit that goes over the drivers seat headrest (here) that then zips up with the mesh that leads to the pax seat head rest. Does anyone have a complete system that they no longer use or the bit I'm after? Dunno if it makes a difference but I've got an SV and the head rest as per the picture. Thanks Mike Edited by - michaeljclark on 7 May 2012 21:33:49
  21. On my 2007 car, I wired the beeper from the central connector on the indicator switch to earth, following a thread here on BC. However it was too loud - even after it was taped over, so eventually I took it out. Mike
  22. *wavey*that would have been Martin, Michael and I!! Yep Blatting back from GW to varing parts of Kent Mike
  23. My Sigma 150 had that too It's the excess oil chucked out by the engine mixed with consensation (also from engine and the atmosphere), thus giving the impression of the mayo you get with HGF. I was told by those more learned that me that it was a case of TADS, and whilst it looked alarming, was nowt to worry about!!! Mike Edited by - michaeljclark on 7 May 2012 11:38:26
