  1. Spotted coming into Clover Way and then leaving 5 mins later I wasn't quick enough off the ladder to pop over and find you! Mike
  2. Right O I've just been out and had a look what I have The bolt for the roll bar has one washer, so on my install the bolt goes through the washer then the strap and then into the chassis Hope that helps Mike
  3. I'm assuming you've purchased an Oxted/European Trimming/Thundersport one? Those bolts hold the roll bar to the car, so I wouldn't be removing them! I've got the "demo" one that Oxted/ETC used for development and I don't recall there being any washers involved! I'll have a dig about in the garage and see if I can find it and confirm! Mike
  4. Quoting Stationary M25 Traveller: The aluminium low entry 1.5t trolley jack from Machine Mart here I think on the box it's labelled as a "Race Jack" Mike
  5. Thanks all Spoken to the Workshop Manager and we're all good Mike
  6. The S-Max had it's annual service (at a Main Dealer), which this year included a brake fluid change. They had to do the fluid change twice as the matey managed not to put enough fluid in his quick charge/bleed gizmo and pushed air into the brake lines 😳. This didn't cost me anything other than time so wasn't overly concerned. However on getting it home I opened the bonnet (cos I'm nosey) and dicovered that there was fluid over the inside of the engine bay from the brake fluid reservoir, where the top hadn't been done up properly - I managed to give it 3/4 of a turn befre it locked shut. I've cleaned the mess up but knowing that brake fluid is hygroscopic, if fluid leaked out, moisture could equally get in. In the 90 mins between me picking up the car and discovering this, (Saturday late morning, so I couldn't phone the service dept back as they had shut), would it require another fluid change? Mike
  7. I had the R400 road radiator fitted to my Sigma by CC and as Mike mentions it will need new mounts - the self bleeding system on my Rad was got rid of. I responded to a thread about it here it will take a while to load the pics as they are on my server at home. Mike Edited by - michaeljclark on 3 Jan 2013 15:38:54
  8. About 12:20 in some rather weather, atleast you had a full hood on! SWMBO and I were in the Dark Grey S-Max that have you a flash and a Hope you weren't too damp at the end of your drive. Mike
  9. Quoting ozzy: So what exactly do you have to run via the switch to isolate everything Ian? Install the switch on the -ve side of the circuit, least ways that's how jj48 (Richard Young of Automotive Engineering) did mine. Install switch, take -ve cable from battery and attach to be side of the switch, make up extra cable and run from other side of switch back to -ve battery terminal. Nice and simple! Mike
  10. I too copied ianB after the original Banner bit the dust and then I forgot do disconnect the terminals on the replacement one weekend, which a week later: (a) meant I had a flat battery, thus (b) causing me to miss a fish and chip Blat with IanB and Stationary M25 Traveller. Now after a Blat I just park the se7en, remove Big Red Key. Even after 5 months of winter stopping play the engine fired on 1st turn of the key! Tis a worthy modification! Mike
  11. I need to get these out of my garage as part of a tidy up before the garage gets "upgraded" over the "off season", they've been sitting about for over a year. Can anyone make use of them for a "spare"/donut/slalom sessions or for a Tin Top? My tyre gauge says that one has just over 5mm across the whole tyre, the other has 5mm over 2/3's with the last 1/3rd at 4mm I'd rather they both went at the same time, so does £35 for the pair incl £10 to NTL sound reasonable? Collection from Paddock Wood (Kent, TN12), GONADS or collection from North Kent/Kentish Weald meets as I suspect courier costs wouldn't make it viable? Mike
  12. Quoting Stationary M25 Traveller: Thanks Mike - how on earth did you get under the dash 😳 Luckily there is just enough slack on the loom for the rocker switches to pull them carefully out of the dash! I fear if I ever tried to get under the dash I might not get out again Mike
  13. It's probably not much use as I've got a Sigma based wiring loom rather than a K series loom, but the wires that supply power to the rocker switch lights are from memory either red with white trace and I believe that they are all seperate feeds. HTH Mike Edited cos I had a quick look at wire colour Edited by - michaeljclark on 16 Oct 2012 18:20:53
  14. Drat, I was soooooo tempted, but as all my exisiting lenses are EF-S I suspect SWMBO may have "comments" if I have to get all new kit.... Good luck with the sale! Mike
  15. Toby - I've got the input codes for the post 2005 Caterham Speedo should you need them to tweak the settings for new wheel/tyre combo. Mike
  16. Quoting Stationary M25 Traveller: Interior and boot lights - are you trying to out-bling Mike 'LED' Clark *idea* 😬 😬 Nice to see I'm not the only one ❗ Mike
  17. If anyone happens to have a working Logitech Squeezebox Radio and/or one of the older "Slim Devices" Squeezebox V3's (or at a push a Touch) that would a new home, I'd be most interested if the price is right Thanks Mike
  18. Right hand side of fuel tank, under the boot floor (well it was on my SV) Mike
  19. Went the whole hog and fitted rest of mirrors to tail/brake section of cluster and installed LED rear light bulbs yesterday. A vast improvement (even if you didn't do the LED bit) This is one of those "upgrades" that is well worth the effort and also not expensive! Mike
  20. Quoting Roger Ford: How much is postage? I paid £4.50 postage for 8 mirrors Mike
  21. Quoting Jonathan Kay: please could you list which parts you used in getting to that point, and are they the standard light unit housings? I've used the standard Caterham supplied light units+lenses. Purchased some of the plastic convex/concave mirrors that Titanium 7 mentioned Taken off the lens and removed the indicator bulb Removed the "reflector" from the Caterham block (it came off with little resistance) Cut the mirror to fit behand the bulb where CC "reflector" was Stuck the mirror in place. Replaced Bulb Put lens back on Tested to make sure not affected electickery Total time was about 7 mins for the 1st side and then 5 for the 2nd SM25T: The mirrors ae very thin (1mm) flexible plastic, and as the std filament bulb get warm just buy just acting as indicators I'm not sure how they (the mirrors) cope under the sustained heat from having the side lights on so I think LED's may be the way forwards Mike Edited by - michaeljclark on 1 Jul 2012 13:00:51
  22. Both now done and in bright daylight you can't miss them. Time for some LED's for the tail/brake lights (so that the heat of a std bulb doesn't melt the plastic mirrors) and I think we may achieve good rear lighting! As I write this it occurs to me that I've not been outside to see how bright they are in the dark Mike
  23. Following Titanium 7's example (and they say imitation is the finest form of flattery) I got some of the mirrors and have just fitted one to the right hand indicator. The pic was taken in bright daylight. Mike
