  1. Hi Stewart Mine has only been for sale for a week so too early to tell. I have had plenty of very positive comments and some serious enquiries so hopefully it won’t hang around for too long. Thanks for your kind comments, best of luck to you also. Mark.
  2. After 6 years of ownership, I am selling my 2008 Caterham 7 S3 Roadsport. I have spent the last few months tirelessly restoring this car back to mint condition and it has just returned from TSK with a full body respray and I have not been out on the roads yet so there isn't a stonechip anywhere on the bodywork. This is a rare opportunity to own an as new example and would make a perfect first Caterham for someone. Any questions please get in touch. The full spec is as follows: 2008 Caterham 7 S3 Sigma 125 Roadsport 1.6 Sigma Engine 7800 miles Kawasaki Green MOT - April 2019 2 previous owners, I have owned the car since 2012 Standard 5 speed Ford type 9 gearbox Tillet Seats Carbon Dash Brand new Caterham belts Lowered floor on both sides Long cockpit FIA bar Genuine Caterham rubber mats 5.75 inch lowered headlights Push button starter Aero ignition switch Immobiliser Full Weather Kit (full doors and hood) Black pack (windscreen and headlamps) Later style BMW differential Titanium 7 Grille Brand new Yokohama A548 Tyres Standard Track Suspension with Bilstein dampers all round New Apollo Black Alloys with silver rims This car has immaculate, unmarked bodywork. It had a number of stone chips picked up over the last 10 years so in July 2018 it had a full body respray at TSK in Dartford and had 4 brand new black fibreglass wings fitted. £15,950 Photos can be viewed here: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/caterham/all-models/2008-caterham-7-sigma-125-roadsport/8860843

  6. I am having a garage clearout and now I have a widetrack Caterham I have no need for these: Full front wishbone set (pair of upper and lower wishbones) - this kit would be approximately £500 new but looking for only £100. Pair of upper front wishbones - these would be £140 new but looking for only £35. 2 Orange anti-roll bars - £5 each. All items are from a metric S3 and are in good, straight condition with only a few stone chips here and there. Collection from Cambridge area or postage at cost. Please message me if you would like to see some photos.

  8. Hi Andy, As Mark D says, I competed at Curborough in May 2013 in an identical spec car to you (2009 academy car with A539 tyres, open diff and sealed academy engine). I went with a bunch of sprinters earlier that year to Northampton Motorsport for a rolling road session and my car came out at 118bhp which was the lowest of all class 1 and would explain your lower terminal speeds and if you look at the class 1 results for Curborough in May 2013 you will see very similar terminal speeds for me compared to you: https://www.lotus7.club/sites/default/files/images/users/11872/Curborough/Curborough%201%202013.pdf My fastest time that day was a 64.94s which was 0.5 seconds behind Robert Jacobs who was using an LSD and had already upgraded to the tracksport package. So the obvious upgrade path for you is LSD/tracksport. However, going back to your queries, I completely agree with Richard. I reckon it is 50/50 between upgrades and driver. You can spend fortunes on upgrades but that may only get you half way there - some advice/coaching and seat time in the car will help you with the other 50%. Feel free to message me directly if you would like any further advice. Mark
  9. Hello All. We are moving house on 16th Feb and I am having a garage sort out. I have 4 almost new Yoko A539 (185/60 R13 80H) tyres which have done only a single sprint event so they have years of life left in them. They are currently fitted on some black genuine Caterham 8-spoke 6x13 alloys (which are a bit scabby and could do with a refurb but otherwise are perfect for competition use). I was going to put them on eBay for a starting price of £200 but thought I would check here first as they would be perfect for a class 1 competitor. Send me an email to markgibson27 at hotmail.co.uk if you are interested or would like to see some photos. They do need to be collected before 16th Feb though! Mark
  10. Thanks All. Simon - are you doing both days or just the Sunday? My other offers have been for the Sunday only. Mark
  11. Hi. Suzanne, Zoe and I are planning on joining you all at Curborough in August but the Grads regs have now evolved to a point where I would have a 120bhp sigma car in class 7 (because it has no lights, passenger seat, MOT or tax) which doesn't sound like much fun even with slicks! Does anyone competing on both days fancy doing a dual drive with me as their team mate and tyre warmer? Send me a blatmail message if you are up for it. Happy to cover fuel and booze costs for the weekend!! Look forward to seeing you there and best of luck for the events between now and then. Mark
  12. Hi. I have decided to sell my trusty tow car. As I have had quite good success in selling my cars to fellow blatchatters I thought I would post the details here: Ford Mondeo Zetec 2.0 TDCi 140 bhp. 2009 - 09 Reg 5 door hatchback. Ink Blue Metallic. First registered on 21 March 2009. 86,300 miles. Full service history. MOT until May 2017 Recent service (May 2016). New battery. Recently fitted Pirelli tyres with plenty of tread (7mm fronts and 8mm rears). Air conditioning with digital climate control. Electric mirrors and windows. Central locking. Cruise control. CD player. Bluetooth handsfree phone connection with voice command. ipod/iphone connection cable. Detachable Swan-neck Witter tow bar. Very good exterior condition - a few dents, scratches and chips. Wheels and interior are immaculate. I have owned the car since October 2012, it has been faultless and is a very well cared for example. £3495. Link to eBay advert: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2009-FORD-MONDEO-ZETEC-2-0-TDCI-140BHP-/201590898718? Please feel free to blatmail me if you are interested. Mark
