  1. You say that the engine is earthed via the engine mount.....remember the engine mount is rubber bonded onto the metal part that is bolted to the chassis. Just looked at my VX and the battery is earthed to the cylinder head via a short thick cable direct to the battery and the engine block is earthed with another thick cable to the chassis rail by the engine mount to chassis rail bolt.
  2. I don't run a warning light but that is not a big deal. What engine do you have?.....Think Auto to a complete kit for the K series.
  3. Hi I live in Kings Langley a short distance from you and have fitted a Think Auto gauge to my car and several others . Just shout if you need some help. John
  4. Try removeing and lubricating the gear lever selector, these become dry and when warm stiff in operation.
  5. Can you find the fuel pump relay and see if it is energised....With the ignition off the contacts of the relay should be open. John
  6. I have one spare but please hote it has no damper ring. John
  7. If you have fuel and it turns over but no spark, either the ECU is not telling it to spark .....Check that the correct plug is connected to the crank sensor or the coil pack has no voltage. If it has fuel and a spark it should try to run. Good luck.
  8. Can you make a narrow shim out of a beer can to ensure a tight fit between the dust cap and hub ....Best to run with some bearing protection . John

The other option is to thread the hole and use a plumbing fitting.

  13. Great news...Had the same this year but mine is a VX
  14. The pressure relief valve spring and plunger can be removed without any dismantling other than removing the retaining cap on the oil pump passenger side. Access is restricted but possible using a suitable socket that the wall thickness has been reduced. You will need strong thumbs to compress the spring on reassembly.
  15. Still sounds like a defective TPS, they can break down internally.
  16. Could also be a defective TPS or cable going to it.
  17. Could be the spring/damper combination, ok on track but harsh for road driving. John

  20. Phil, ask Steve Grenald ....also ask about the unlocking code.
  21. Hi Phil Does your ECU have a comms lead attached and the exhaust a lambda boss.
  22. Hi Paul CRB should be ok however it was assembled onto a used clutch assy with a new centre plate. Does slight operation (preload) help. Is it noisy at the point of release? Preload might help
  23. Hi Callum Changing the rad should not be difficult, but do check the condition of the four bobbin and search in tech talk for the best method of bleeding the system afterwards. You should not have to disturb the temp gauge sender as it is on the water rail, the switch on the rad is for the fan. John
