  1. Get a move on Mr Pank, I want to see that car finished.... Hope the exams go well.
  2. Also a smear so some form of sealant around them to stop them dripping fuel. Search for the thread by Alex Tangent on this.
  3. Handy hint, cut open a 4 litre milk bottle (empty 1st) and tape strips of this to the body work to protect the paint....
  4. When mine was playing up I took it apart, removed the offending rust with fine emery paper, cleaned out with switch cleaner and re assembled. Seemed to have done the trick 2 years on... I did look for Bosch replacements but it all got rather confusing so I did the strip and also lined up a 2nd hand starter just in case. You could always go for one of those high torque, low weight racing starters advertised about the place.
  5. Blue Caterham, LO7 BLU I think, just passing the Hearthill services heading eastbound on the M8. I passed and beeped (silver BMW) but you were to busy to notice.
  6. And I have a dizzy from a warm/hot xflow with very few miles on it, complete with side exit cap, coil and rev limiter... :)
  7. As Paul says *arrowup*, there are two metal spring tabs you need to press in and the CRB will pop off nicely.
  8. I lined the rear wings up correctly with the rear skin so it looked "right", i.e wrapping around to the rear surface, then held the front in position and marked the holes onto the skins through the wing tabs. Never used a measure at all and they fit and look fine. Try offering up so the rears are right then the fronts should be fine.
  9. Hey Chris, Hope you are having fun in the sun, some great weather for you over the past few days. Les, would have loaned Chris my alternator if I had know, but seems to be sorted now.
  10. But even if I have over 200bhp I don't have to use it all ha ha ha ha ha ha..... Seriously though, i have looked into this and it is on my winter upgrade list.... I am running a Ford English (very different from an atlas, the Atlas is a rear leading diff and stronger than the English - the rally boys use them and originally from a Capri) with LSD. The Axle swap is not too difficult but you will need to swap to ford PCD hubs on the front and change the wheels.... Edited by - jonboylaw on 15 Jul 2011 12:54:28
  11. Here is a photo of the race screens on my car, I think they work really well with a cage. I used Rivnuts in the scuttle to secure them. http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/45668/2834831180103159900S500x500Q85.jpg Edited by - jonboylaw on 15 Jul 2011 12:09:55

    Star Crack

Ahmed, I am just repairing some on my rear wingsv at the moment. Basically you need to cut the old ones out (with some margin to make sure all stresses are removed, then fibreglass from below. When dry use a good quality filler and knifing compound plus lots of wet and dry to get a smooth finish....... I also used some rubber roofing paint form B&Q, but did not put enough coats on... lesson learned. Edited by - jonboylaw on 29 Jun 2011 14:53:53
  14. I have a rose jointed A-Frame that bolts to the bottom of the axle to limit sideways movement caused by the usual bush, also have rose jointed bushes on the dampers that work well. Rear springs are 125lb on the softest damper setting, fronts are 300lb (x-flow), 2 clicks up and running a smidge of toe-in and the orange ARB, athough I have converted to a full DD front set-up which helps a lot. Edit, Tyre pressures are 18 front and 16 rear on 021Rs Edited by - jonboylaw on 29 Jun 2011 14:49:44
  15. Bit of luck that is was just the shells that went. Hopefully they will find the cause and have it back together again soon.
  16. Nick, Did you get my BM ? Let me know the price please. Cheers Edited by - jonboylaw on 22 Jun 2011 14:10:35
  17. Ahmed, I am running driver and pax perspex race screens, work well and look good (In my oppinion), Got a spare scuttle for when I get around to fitting a full screen arangement, but that will not be for a while. BM me if you want to meet and take a look.
  18. If you are running ram pipes on the carbs, you may need a tiny bead of silicon sealant around them, search for ram pipe mod by alextangent, but most likely the cam timing in this case.
  19. Graham, The coil pack will be bolted on at the corners, did you use the Triggerwheel coil bracket ? I would recommend replacing the crank pully with the Burton small Steel one, then having the trigger wheel welded to this in the right orientation, this will allow the trigger to detect the teeth easier. I really think the MJ is worth retaining, it just sounds like you have had a poor instal by some cowboys. If you were closer I would sort it for you. Jon

  21. Thanks John, but I think I will be just fine with the runners. New W1i arrived on Thuirsday and it looks great.
  22. Spotted on the perepherique about 20:30 green with Yellow stripe, heading clockwise, near the TV studios.
