  1. Thanks. We will be attempting this in a few weeks and this advice will be very helpful. Thanks again. Jan
  2. How do I get the pins out that hold the pads in place? My previous 7 had an allen key jobbie but there is none on these 2003 big brakes Any help appreciated. Thanks Jan
  3. Did I imagine it or what....that some trackday organisers insist on a rollcage if you run on slicks? Jan
  4. After instituting a house wide search I have found the leaflet thingy that accompanied the wrench and it seems it is guaranteed for a year. Bought it about a year ago! I will call them next week and enquire. Jan
  5. The square bit that fits into the socket or socket extension has snapped off ☹️. Any ideas if it can be repaired or is it now scrap? Jan Edited by - Jan T on 17 Apr 2004 19:57:50

    R500 Exhaust

FWIW the 7'' and Cat only fits on the SV. Jan
  8. Keith I thought it was 65lb/sq ft for track use not 75. Could explain why I have had some trouble with my wheel nuts on past track days . Jan
  9. FWIW I have an R300 SV with the big box and whilst it has not yet been tested at Bedford I reckon it will be OK. A static test last summer at Castle combe only showed 90.8dBs. Jan
  10. Don't want to alarm unecessarily but my 1st SV had a slight but persistent oil leak (appeared to be gearbox related) so CC south fitted a new gearbox at 5000 miles muttering something about a manufacturing fault Jan
  11. So who is going to build the wooden SV cockpit we all need? Jan
  12. BigYin Who did your flat floor set up....if you don't mind my asking? Jan
  13. Adrain Send me your e mail and I will also send you a picture of my SV R300 with the 15'' wheels and CR500's. I used to have a VVC SV with 16's but on track I used 13's with high profile AO32rs which I found great. The diameter of the 13's with AO32rs is pretty well the same as the 15's with lower profile tyres so should be no problems with speedo calibration etc etc. The only problem with the 13's is that they foul the big brakes (standard on R300) unless you buy the CC K & N minators which appear to be machined differently....anyway they fit and do not foul. 14. Big Yin/Steve An excellent method for keeping the weight off (mind you I am 'only' 95kgs)a is a s****y cold over Christmas which rendered much of the food and drink placed before me unappealing When I made my seat base I did not use a plastic seat base so the foam directly under my bottom is a only mm or two thick and has only remained intact as the heavy duty plastic bag is now an integral part of the seat. Steve I am surprised you have to be so horizontal to acheive the position you want in the car. I shall have to wend my way in your direction sometime to compare positions 😳 Jan
  15. Steve Glad to hear you are out blatting and enjoying it ....I am very jealous of the roads you have on your doorstep. About the seat did you end up making just a base or a back as well? Also when I made my first one there was no way the bag was going to part company with the foam ....it was pretty well 'integrated'. Did you also use a plastic seat base and if so outside the bag? Got any trackday plans for next year now you have the seat? Cheers Jan PS just off for a blat to test my wife's new hat PPS she's wearing it, of course 😬
  16. Is BigYin wrong to suggest that the use of a seat base does not acheive a lower seating position? Jan
  17. My 2.5 year old Coversystems cover is no longer waterproof ☹️. Anyone else had this happen to theirs? Jan
  18. Well just to confuse the issue my July 2003 factory built R300 SV has carpet on the tunnel and detachable carpet 'pieces' with poppers in the footwell. Jan

    Quick oil question

...and will comma Syner G mix OK with the caterham motorsport oil they now use? Jan
  22. Luke Clearance issue is from caliper to the inner rim. Jan
  23. On dry trackdays I would like to use my 13'' KN Minators and AO32r's on my R300 (pretty well same diameter as 15'' wheels and lower profile CR500's ) but there is only
  24. My Coversystems cover lost its 'waterproofness' after about 2 years but generally it represented VFM. I did have one problem inasmuch that the enamel flaked off the CC nosebadge something not even Caterham Cars could justify with 'they all do that'. Now if only I lived near John............... Jan
