  1. I think it's US (as in United States!) in that case. Jan
  2. Hi Arnie I 'knew' someone would ask me that. How do I tell? I'll e mail a picture to you. cheers Jan
  3. On a business trip to the US last week I was extremely fortunate to win a brand new Toshiba Portege 2000 laptop ( very, very slim at 0.6 ins thick, light 2.6 llbs and generally ace ) BUT what I really want is a mac so I can start editing etc my 7 videos I would like to sell it. Click here for a full description. I will sell it for £1,500 which is a substantial discount as new it would cost over £2,000 (including the separate CD rom drive ), £100 will go to NTL and the rest will pay for a decent Mac. I do appreciate this would be an expensive acquisition BUT it is a very nice machine. It has a full international warranty, all the manuals , cables etc and the choice of XP professional or windows 2000 professional operating systems. E mail me if you are interested. Cheers Jan PS it has not been used at all.

  9. Any idea who the manufacturer is? Jan
  10. I have lost the rubber switch cover on mine. Anyone got a spare (unlikely I guess )or know whom to contact for a replacement. I have asked Caterham but no joy as yet. Thanks Jan Edited by - Jan T on 5 Sep 2002 07:36:28
  11. Geoff Why are you removing the propshaft 🤔 Cheers Jan
  12. Bruce 13's do look a bit small on my SV but not ridiculously so but I do use them on the track and they perform very well. For the road though 16's look good and perform perfectly fine IMO. Jan

    6ft 4"

Fatcat How tall are you? As Andy mentioned I have an SV (I'm a shade under 6/4) and the pedals are on the furthest setting back and I still have to have the seat about half way along it's run. I tried the pedals in the middle setting and the seat way back but despite having arms like a gibbon I couldn't engage reverse when strapped in. To get my crash helmeted head below the FIA bar I have made a foam seat base which is very very thin at it's base but has a wedge shaped lower back support which is essential or else you will exacerbate or create serious lower back problems. Ultimately I would like some sort of race seat but it would need a good rake on the back part or else I will sit too high. Cheers Jan PS how did you get hold of a 2nd hand SV....they must be v rare.
  14. My 6 spd had a manufacturing fault and was replaced under warranty at 5000 miles. Only sympton obvious to me was an oil leak. Jan
  15. Always had exemplary service from Simon Lambert and team at Dartford. Jan

  17. Sorry Steve the Jedi mind thingy failed this time as I have agreed to buy these wheels from Alex. Cheers Jan
  18. What size, type etc is recommended? Cheers Jan
  19. I am 6/4 and have an SV with an FIA bar but even with the seat squab removed I do not have sufficient clearance ( for L7C trackday purposes) from the top of my helmet ( must be long body, short leg syndrome ). Does this mean I need a new taller bar and likely modified roof or has anyone got any brilliant ideas? Help greatly appreciated. Thanks Jan
  20. Thanks I will pass this info to my chum. Jan
  21. Good thread.....the only point I can add is that on my recent driving course with Don Palmer I remember his saying I HAD to learn to HNT. Size 12 feet in the SV are well suited to this! Jan
