  1. As sold by Nifty but never used and still in their packaging- they are the Le Mans Black Plastic Convex ones with anodised mounting kit which cost £132 new. These mirrors are designed to fit on the windscreen stanchion of a Seven allowing the car to be driven legally without sidescreens. I am looking for £85 plus postage. Please e mail me if interested. Thanks Jan
  2. This screen suitable for an SV has only been used once and is in very good condition . I am looking for £175 plus postage. It could be collected from my home in N Oxfordshire or from Birmingham city centre by arrangement. Please e mail me if you are interested. Thanks Jan

    Sticking throttle

I'll check the cable again and the pedal pivot. Thanks Jan
  4. Memo to self :Check all cables are connected properly and have not been accidentally yanked loose. Sorry to trouble everyone. Jan
  5. When anything other than very light pressure is applied to the throttle it sticks which was somewhat disconcerting when it happened on my blat this morning. I don't think it's a problem with the cable and all seems well in the pedal box so I am guessing it is the spring mechanism that sits between the roller barrels. Should I lubricate if so what should I use? Thanks Jan
  6. Sorry I should have said that I checked the electrolyte level and the cells are covered but high should the level of fluid be? If the battery is the problem (new not so long ago) is it recoverable and do I take it that keeping it connected all the time to the Optimate has caused the problem? Thanks, Jan
  7. I hope someone can give me some advice on this issue. I have had my battery plugged into the Optimate 3 over the winter but when I tried to start it a few weeks ago the battery was flat (pretty new Banner). The green light was displayed on the Optimate so nothing amiss as far as the optimate was concerned (assuming it was functioning correctly). I used jump leads on the 7 went for a blat to charge the battery , put it away for a few more weeks but when I went to start it today whilst the battery was not flat it did not have enough juice to start so back to the jump leads. The optimate again was showing the green light. Something is clearly not right here, is the optimate (also pretty new like the battery) failing in its task? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Jan
  8. Mark Guy is spot on that was Diana and I out enjoying the sun. I could not go too quick as Diana insisted in taking her 2 dogs with us. You probably didn't spot them as they are of modest proportions. Cheers Jan
  9. Yes a really good day although next time I will stay overnight because I was knackered having got up at 0500. As a consequence I felt a bit off form (that's my explanation for the grass excursions )...but the instruction from Ben was very useful esp as far as Druids was concerned...and no rain . Hope I didn't hold anyone up in the red group...normally would have been in blue but it was full. Thanks to Geoff and the organising team. Cheers Jan
  10. I have a lowered floor in my SV and live in N Oxfordshire (1/2 mile from Warwicks border). You are welcome to come over for a test sit. I am around this weekend so blatmail me if you need to. Cheers Jan

    Restoring CF

I have had the same problem. CF cycle wings went very white when exposed to rain and light. AT EFA's suggestion I used Mer Bumper and External Vinyl Cleaning Gel which made a big improvement. You have to use it regularly although lately I also used Turtle Wax Black Flash Trim Wax as an additional coating and that helped . The CF is still a bit dull but at least it is now black. Cheers Jan
  13. No reading at all on the temp gauge. Can someone please help me with a description of any tests I can carry out to ascertain whether it's the gauge, sender, wiring etc. I have checked the connections and they look OK. Help much appreciated. Thanks Jan

    is my new router working?
  15. I had a lowered floor retro fitted in my SV but worried beforehand about speed bumps....I need not have bothered as these have not been a problem. Jan
  16. Thanks for the advice/comments....now where's that motor? Jan
  17. Mark I don't have the intermittent option so it's not that connection. Jan
  18. My WW's are not working. I have swapped the fuse to no avail. Is there history with the motors failing or is it most likely a loose connection? All other electrics seem fine. Advice for techphobe appreciated. Thanks Jan
  19. Just had my R300 SV serviced and the nice man who did it replaced the main fuel pressure hose to the manifold(?) as the underside was very perished. Consequences of it springing a leak would not have been good to say the least. My car has only done 7000 miles and is 2 years old so take a look at yours. The part is a standard Rover hose but modified at both ends by CC and it costs a shade under £55. Jan

    SV wanted

A good friend of mine is looking to buy an SV for sub £20K. Please e mail me with any ideas etc. Thanks Jan PS he has seen the one on the Caterham website and went to the showroom and got the 'usual' Caterham indifferent treatment
  21. Just fitted new CR5000s on 15'' R300 wheels and had them balanced BUT now have moderate steering wheel vibration at speeds over 70 mph. I am assuming this is down to a poor balancing job but anyone got any further thoughts/advice? Thanks in advance. Jan
  22. Mike As I am a Cadwell virgin and wish to stay 'intact' 😳 (so to speak) I will have few problems heeding your advice. Cheers Jan Edited by - Jan T on 28 Apr 2005 22:45:42
  23. Hi Martin Can't remember may have dreamt it I suppose....you know me! I was going to use my worn CR500's but the weather forecast is looking wet so thought I had better take tyres with good tread. Haven't had time to fit my RIF aeroscreen yet and may call on you for some technical input. Cheers Jan
