  1. I gather I should not go on track next week (Cadwell Tuesday) on brand new tyres (CR500's). What should I do to break them in? I will be driving 150 miles or so to the circuit. I have a tyre rack and spare wheels/tyres etc so I have some options etc. Would appreciate some advice. Thanks Jan Edited by - Jan T on 28 Apr 2005 22:32:12
  2. Dave I have the larger 7'' silencer on my R300 (admittedly with the Cat on ) and it grounds a lot at Brands and Anglesey (to name just 2 circuits) with 2 up and I am wrecking the can Jan
  3. Scuffnut You calling me a twig 🤔 I'll see you outside 😬 BTW Where are you? Cheers Jan (aka the Twig)

  5. I have a lowered floor and have tested it out on a wide variety of S London's 'finest' road bumps and pleased to say so far no problems. I am dead chuffed with this upgrade. Jan
  6. I am not particularly heavy but am tall with big feet and the small 7 is somewhat of a 'compromise' for me...........so if I don't need to compromise(by having an SV) why bother? Jan
  7. I had the same problem and the leaking fluid had caused the disintegration of the plastic heater surround (I know..... remove the heater!) so Caterham fitted a race cap. Jan
  8. Davey Bee If you are interested can you please contact me. Thanks Jan

  11. I have got the 7'' silencer and cat on my R300 SV and my car is quiet at low revs eg 90.8 dB at 4500 rpm measured at Castle Combe when very new. But still quite noisy at full blast 😬 I intend to go to Bedford sometime and try their noise meter on the driveby and will post the results when done. Jan
  12. Need a friendly tyre fitting place Epsom/Sutton/Mitcham/Streatham area etc to fit my new tyres. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks Jan
  13. Bat Thanks for the measurements I am going to get the ruler out on my car but sounds like the lowered floor could be the way to go for me. BigYin Going to try and get to the next Curborough so would like to grab a look. I used to ground my exhaust as well but adjusted the bracket and now OK. Jan
  14. Peter Thanks look forward to seeing the measurements. Jan PS if I wasn't going to Brands 5/8 I would pop up to the Warks meet and take a look.
  15. Bat I am 6/4, long in back and with an R300 SV . I currently use a foam seat for the track but have thought long and hard re the lowered floor option. I live in London and am concerned about road bumps if i fit one. Does the lowered floor sit lower than the bottom of the sump? Cheers Jan
  16. Don't get too hung up on the track days = no warranty issue as it has been my experience that CC do look at each case on its merits. I have done trackdays in both my 7s and CC has been very fair on warranty issues. Jan Ps so far
  17. Beeper...you get used to it .......after a year 😳 Jan
  18. My coversystems cover lost its waterproof abilities after 18 months of use Jan
  19. *arrowup*FWIW that is exactly the route I am going down and so I will be getting some good use out of my wheel carrier. Jan
  20. My 13s with 70 profile AO32Rs have virtually the same diameter as my 15s with CR500s. Jan
  21. Mav Front pads are fine. Rears are OK but have a few heat cracks(?) and might change them. The main purpose of the query was curiosity as the chum asisting me was a little foxed by the unfamiliar design. Thanks for everyone's input. Jan PS don't want to be caught short at BH GP on June 7th as I was previously. Edited by - Jan T on 10 May 2004 07:05:04
