  1. Ordered my PVR25 and bracket today through Ed Roller and a very helpful chap he is to! Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  2. Thanks people! I was intending to mount the PVR25 horizontally and having now noticed the appropriate "bracket" listed under accessories in the powervamp web site, that may well be the way to go. Assuming it's not more fuss than it's worth to do so? Oh and Longy, I have used a CTEK XS3600 for a few years now and it provides excellent service! Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  3. Despite having spent the winter connected to a battery conditioner my old Banner battery is dying fast. Having done the research on BC it would appear that the Powervamp PVR25 is the battery of choice (for many) to crank some life in to my old 1800 K series Roadsport. Now my question is this, is this still the favoured battery and if so what about a tray? I'm assuming that given the difference in dimensions between the respective batteries, the existing tray won't hold the new PVR25. If this is indeed the case do I need to buy the appropriate tray from Powervamp at the same time? As always, any advice/guidance very gratefully received! 😶‍🌫️ Foggy the Silver Seven !!

    mp3 radio

As a follow on to this, can anyone recommend an MP3 player with a decent radio? I currently use a "Dansa" with in built radio but the reception is not that impressive to be honest. ☹️
  5. Nah, just happened to be in the right place at the right time for once !! 😬 Transfer is fine by me, BM me the relevant details and I'll sort it out now while I've got 5 mins to spare. Alan
  6. Yes please Stuart! Let me know how you would prefer payment. Alan
  7. For a moment there I was highly delighted because I have this same model! However, if you follow Kenny's link to the auction on Ebay and then go to that sellers own Ebay shop, you will see there are two Brundle 196 models. As far as I can see they both look identical except that one is in a "Minichamps" box and the other a "Total" box. The Minichamps version is for sale at £35 yet the Total version is £150 !! I'm 99% sure mine is in the Minichamps box the same as Ammo's son appears to be but the curious thing is why is there such a vast difference in price if the only difference is the packaging? 😔 I dare say someone will be along shortly to educate us?
  8. Just gone through all this for my A3! In the end I settled for Good Year F1's through Etyres (5% club discount as well). They even come out and fit them! For what it's worth they cost me £144 inc valves and balancing. About the best I could find in my neck of the woods.

    Autocom + Tomtom

Yep, volume adjustable and tested via the change preferences route. 😬 Might be worth giving them a call as they were originally going to email me some instructions to re-set something or other! Found them very helpfull this morning though I appreciate in this day and age it's luck of the draw who you get to speak to.

    Autocom + Tomtom

Phoned Tomtom earlier and they have suggested that because I have recently downloaded voices some files may have become corrupt. Simply a matter of rebooting the device in my case. Whatever, it now works!! Could it be a case of rebooting may solve your volume problem?
  12. Bit of a longshot this but please can anyone advise me of the correct parts and connections required to connect my Tomtom 710 to my Autocom Active Plus? I've just bought parts 1285 (4 pole isolated input mixer) and 1293 (appropriate lead to Tomtom) on the advice of Autocom but STILL no joy!! 😔 Or am I better of binning this connection method and going bluetooth?
  13. Interesting, SVC list these as; AS1267 5.75" FREE STANDING STAINLESS STEEL OR BLACK BODY Also available with a Spot Light Lens Highly Polished Stainless Steel were these not originally brass shells with a chrome finish or have I got the supplier mixed up with someone else?
  14. For what it's worth, I fitted the clear rear lenses (as supplied by 7 Tweeks and as appears to be the same as fitted to the R500) last year. I took along the original lenses along (just in case) to Millwood at MoT time but the car passed with the clear lenses fitted. I therefore assumed that the units must be legal. The red bulbs fitted were the multi directional LED's also purchased from 7 Tweeks as I found that the normal red bulbs gave off a far to pink hue for my liking. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  15. Hi Trevor, Are these shiny or matt? Do you know who the manufacturer was? Alan
  16. Is the Steering wheel "D" shaped? Tried googling Sparco 255 but nothing found under that description.
  17. I went for this set up as it still allows the use of the sidescreens or even wind deflectors should you feel the need. As long as you're aware of the restricted door opening then it's not a problem at all and the benefit is you end up with 2 mirrors on each side, one flat and one convex giving a better rearward view. As regards security, their really isn't an issue. Remove one of the stanchion bolts and bolt the mirror mount in it's place. It's then simply a case of threading the mirror on to the mount which also means it's only a case of unthreading should you want to temporarily remove them. All in all IMHO, a great bit of kit!
  18. I have just bought an A3 with a manual gearbox as I discovered thishere and consequently decided I would stick with a manual instead!!
  19. Matt, Both of the one's Ray has kindly provided a CC lin to show a "kink" in them. Can I suggest you check yours first as there is one that is a flat 90 version, if you see what I mean? I came across this issue when mine were changed recently on my 98, 1.8K Roadsport. Incidentally, both versions are available from Redline. The "flat 90" was £4.41 so I expect the "kinked" version would be a similar price.
  20. Snap!! Did exactly the same and no interference at all! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  21. That's interesting to note Martin! The pair I ordered I returned as I wasn't happy with blemishes in the weave. Shame really as Millwood would appear to have the monopoly on the fully wrapped round type.
  22. Or do you mean the complete carbon wrap around one's that overlap the rear wing? These are supplied solely by Millwood (unless anyone knows any different?). Do a search for Millwood rear arch protectors and you will find more info and a pic.
  23. Dave, Bri looks like there aren't that many of us wanting a radio facility after all. Thanks for everyone's feedback, much appreciated. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  24. Dave are you saying that is what you use in your seven? If so, how is the reception? I was rather hoping someone would come along and say "I use xyz in my seven and it works a treat!" Surely I can't be the only one wanting to use a radio for those longer blats? Foggy the Silver Seven !! Edited by - Foggy on 23 Feb 2009 16:57:16
