    Fuel Filter

Hi John, I've just done this very same job and too be honest, I think you're over complicating things. I'm no spanner man and it's really not that complicated if you follow the guide in your link. I found it easier to slacken off the hose end connection and the j-pipe connection before removing the filter. Once you've got the filter in your hands you will see it's just a matter of using two spanners (or adjustable's) to separate the j-pipe from the filter. As the guide says, refitting is a reversal of the procedure. Unless it's me that has misunderstood your question? Hope that helps?

    For Sale

Hi, could I take the Speedcats please? Thank you
  3. SM25T, replied to your personal email address. Thank you!
  4. Now that's an interesting option! SM25T, please could you point me in the direction of your guide? Many thanks
  5. Would anyone happen to have a yellow 7-pin Peltor headset for the old Autocom system knocking about? I've got these two sets of in helmet version available for part exchange or sale if anyone is interested?
  6. Hi Alastair, thanks for your input. I've seen that thread but those aren't the same as mine. I did consider the Wanted section but thought I would be more likely to attract attention through For Sale...... may be wrong of course!
  7. In desperation........................... BTTT
  8. Been out for a blat and come back with only three centre caps..... /sites/default/files/images/users/3265/_DSC3523.jpg/sites/default/files/images/users/3265/_DSC3520.jpg They're off a 14" Minator wheel but would assume that a 13" wheel cap would fit? The blank cap is still available from Caterham but I doubt the yellow & green badge centre is. I don't suppose anyone has got the odd spare knocking around they could sell me have they please? Can anyone help please? Ok, I've drawn a complete blank with this, let's try "Wanted"
  9. Hi ECR, I understand your observation but my car is a bog standard 120hp 1800 K-series Roadsport which isn't abused or tracked so wouldn't have thought power was an issue in my particular case. Geoff, my car is a 98 so the age range would fit. Clearly my fractures are longer than 1-2 mm you encountered but what I do find strange is that the damage only affects the nearside hub. Hopefully the upgraded hubs will be the end of the problem!
  10. I'm pleased to hear the upgraded hubs have been received so well, gives me confidence I knowing I've made the right choice. Other than over tightening of the wheel nuts, any idea as to how or why this occurs? Nothing to do with the shoulder of the replacement nuts I mentioned not being as deep? Oh and just a quick shout for Redline who supplied the kit for their delivery in under 24 hrs from order placement!!
  11. Thank you for the response and yes SM25T, I do use a torque wrench which is why I'm surprised the off side shows no signs of fatigue at all. ECR, I'm relieved to hear that it's not uncommon and also assured somewhat by the reports that the upgrades seem to be holding up!
  12. Appealing to POBC, has anyone come across this before..... /sites/default/files/images/users/3265/Hub.jpg Only evident on the near side hub so I'm at a loss a sto what has caused it. Last year I replaced the wheel nuts and on advice, same size of course but there is a difference in shoulder dimensions, could that be the culprit? I'm in the process of upgrading to the ali kit so anxious to avoid the same issue again! Any help or advice much appreciated.
  13. Oily and Steve, many thanks for your input, certainly more along the lines I was thinking and I'll have a look at both kits. Have to say that Steve's "before and after" photo's are very impressive and tend to make me wonder if it would pay to restore the complete seat as opposed to just the relevant areas especially as colour matching may be an issue. Many thanks for your input guys, it's appreciated!
  14. Hi John, that idea had occurred to me but I thought I would try a more permanent solution if possible. Might be the way to go in the meantime though!
  15. Despite the occasional leather treatment and clean my leather seats are starting to show signs of wear. There appears to be a multitude of leather stains/dyes and kits out there but could anyone recommend any specific product suitable for restoring the colour etc from experience? Don't think they warrant a complete refurb at the moment but it would be nice to restore the colour at least. /sites/default/files/images/users/3265/IMG_0377.jpg
  16. Heading east along the A36 toward Salisbury this evening about 5:10pm. I was the silver Audi A3 that flashed my lights at you!

    Paint Code?

Jonathan, many thanks for that extremely quick response pointing me in the right direction! Titanium7, following the links in Jonathan's guidance resulted in me having a chat with Tony at TSK and as you say, looks like my car is in "Mercedes bright silver 744". I now need to wait and hear back from the body shop to confirm or deny that that is the right colour. Failing that I will attempt to contact Caterham with the chassis number etc to see if they can help. Once again, many thanks. I appreciate you both taking the time to respond with your knowledge.

    Paint Code?

Helllllp! Like a muppet I have put a small dent in the bonnet of the 7 so she's gone into the spray shop for repair and paint. However, the body shop are having difficulty in obtaining a good match, despite the use of a spectrum analyser. The car is a 98 Roadsport in metallic silver........but what shade of silver! I have nothing in the records to indicate the original paint code. Anyone any advice on the way forward please?
  19. Have a look at Jack Wolfskin stuff. Waterproof, windproof, breathable and a lot with removable fleece liners. I've got jackets and footwear that are 15 years old ans still going strong!
  20. Wednesday evening must have been about 5:10pm, a very shiny blue with white stripe 16 plate heading over the Heytesbury roundabout toward Salisbury on the A36.
  21. I've just been through this with a new set of R888's. Three of the tyre's balanced ok but I had to stop the tyre fitter attempting to put 75g of weights on the fourth!! As cr500dom says, when the tyre was deflated and the dot moved to opposite the valve it zeroed out at 20g.
  22. Having taken advantage of Adam & Page's recent discount on R888's I now have a set of 4 part worn R888's to dispose of. Two are on the wear bars and the other pair have approx 3.5mm of tread left on them. I appreciate they're 14" and not the more popular 13" but wondered if they could be useful to someone for track day abuse etc? Does £40 sound reasonable? Up to my neck in it at the moment so collection only from Warminster, Wilts please.
