  1. Have to admit I hadn't thought of that one John! Trouble is my new phone is a Blackberry which not only doesn't have a radio built in but means I now have to shell out for the Autocom bluetooth adaptor at £70!!. I could use another phone that does of course but that would mean changeing the sim card every time. Thanks for the thought though.
  2. Having finally got round to installing my Autocom system I would now like to install a portable radio (music type). Obviously as small as possible but also capable of good reception. Any advice on a suitable unit much appreciated! Foggy the Silver Seven !!

The last time this subject was raised the majority managed to locate them through Redline here.
  4. Ian, Many thanks for that *arrowup* Not sure I would be brave enough to have a go with a hot air gun but certainly think hot water is worth a try! 😬
  5. Toby, The simple answer to your question is yes. I have the same pillar mounted mirrors and use the wind deflectors with them. As to the effectiveness of the deflectors, they sure aren't a cure but the difference for me is noticeable. I have experimented by slightly pushing the deflectors outward and doing so increases the effectiveness. Having said that, I have yet to come up with a satisfactory method of keeping them at the most effective angle!
  6. Mike, Yo the man!! 😬 That's exactly the information I was looking for! Many thanks Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  7. Thanks for that Nick, sure my car started life from that neck of the woods so it could very well be the case! No one got any info on the cat question? ☹️ Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  8. My 1800 Roadsport was first registered on the 1st May 1998 and although I was told by the dealer it was factory built, the vin number seems to suggest it wasn't. It has a cat fitted but am I not correct in thinking that legislation dictated that cars registered after August 1998 had to have one fitted? If so, does this therefore follow that I can swap my exhaust for a shiney 4-1 without a cat? 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  9. I did order a set from Millwood and was delighted that they extended far enough up the arch to hide some stone chips I have but I couldn't help feel the quality just wasn't up to scratch. When I returned them I asked if they could let me know if any of a better quality were delivered. Haven't heard anything so I assume they must all be like that. Given the response here, surely there has to be a marketing opportunity for someone in the CF field here? I would even be interested in larger chrome one's! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  10. While Bill has raised this topic again, does anyone happen to know an alternative supplier other than Millwood? The one's I have seen from Millwood all seem to have blemishes in the weave. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  11. I did this mod to my 98 Roadsport back in the Spring. Used a CC aero filler cap and to be honest it was a straight forward swap. Yes the holes for the original metro cap external bezel needed covering up but this was easily achieved by rotating the aero bezel but I certainly did not need to modify the filler neck. Maybe the age difference between the cars could have something to do with it? As for the filler flap, when I fitted my new style aero with the enlarged aperture to the top I wrongly assumed that there would be no need to remove the flap. I now use the flex pipe that comes with the plastic gallon fuel containers (the one with the concertina type neck not the rigid one) and have found that the pump nozzle will fit inside it and the flexibility of the spout allows the pipe to be pushed past the offending flap. Result! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!

  15. Fancy trying this fairly cheap up grade for my 98 1800 Roadsport so has anyone got a spare in good nick for sale?

Mic, Can't find any pictures of the Momo steering wheel. Any photo's anywhere? 😬
  18. Having read everyone's comments I remain un convinced it's worth changing from 48mm to 56mm. Perhaps I would be better saving up for a set of roller barrels!!! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  19. Sorry, meant breather filter. As per the sellers description. 😳 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  20. Thanks for everyone's very helpful comments and acw for helping me out with the linky thing that was doing my nut in! 😔 Clive, I have no interest in competing at this stage and the interest was more of a desire to increase the power slightly for modest expense. Unless you are of a different opinion then the general feeling seems to be that it's really not worth bothering with. I do note that the seller is including an air filter though. Thanks again to everyone. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  21. I give up fighting with the stoopid linky thing!!! 😔 Please can someone go to the trouble of having a look at this on fleabay for me and give me the benefit of their wisdom? If it will be a straight forward swap on my standard 98 1.8k Roadsport, what sort of increase in bhp/torque am I likely to get? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270250897962&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017 Thank you for your patience and perseverance!!!! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  22. Look great!! Out of interest, did you think the rivets were neccessary to get a flush fit or were the rivets and the edging more from a security/cosmetic view point? Only ask as although Jon is sending out some black rivets I am tempted to bond them on. Talking of which Expecting mine to be delivered within next few days! 😬 Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  23. Mike, Thats a fair point! Thanks for that. Bri, I'm rapidly coming to that conclusion myself!! Easier just to live with rattling my knee on the ignition switch occasionaly! ☹️
