  1. Update very much appreciated, thanks. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  2. Ditto, mine is carried in the boot strapped in with a bungee strap. Point of caution though, succesfully managed to put a small dent in the bodywork when the fire extinguisher that was simillarly strapped, came adrift!! ☹️ Talking of which, where do others carry their extinguishers, or don't you? Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  3. Second that, many thanks for not developing sloping shoulders and taking an interest. Restores your faith in suppliers somewhat. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  4. Fair point. I'm currently waiting for a return call from these people below. I will post their reply to our questions. here Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  5. Have just fitted a set of these clear rear lights (and carbon blocks!) from Seven Tweeks, I have to agree, the brake/tail lights have taken on a decidedly pink hue to them now. What about LED bulbs? Anyone know if they shine a deeper red? I am aware that this does not negate the blessed EU rules but if the bulbs took on a more vivid red colour then would that not make it more likely the plod would turn a blind eye? I know, I know but we can all live in hope! Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  6. Thanks for that! A really useful little tool and I for one am very gratefull. Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  7. Thanks for that RJ. I assume therefore, that I can use the diagram on 7FAQ as guidance then? Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  8. Seriously considering going down the "Aircraft style" toggle switch and Starter Button route. Now I now the subject has been covered in detail in previous threads and I am reasonably confident I can tackle the job. However, all the schematic wiring diagrams refer to 2001 on K series. I have a 98 EU2 1800 K-series Roadsport. Anyone got any suggestions on sourcing a suitable diagram or is there no difference between 1998 and 2001 for the purposes of this fitting? Any advice on sourcing the relevant good quality hardware would also be appreciated. Thanks people Foggy the Silver Seven !!
  9. Mark, This is a long shot but I have just had a similar problem which occurred at about 5pm! After isolating the respective circuits I discovered the reason accidentally. ..... condensation from the microwave was running down the kitchen tiles and into the socket!!! Now I'm not suggesting this is your problem but it's something I hadn't considered myself, however, given the time of year is it feasible in your house as well? Just a thought

Not far from me Simon, I'm in Ruskin Drive! Thanks Andy but what is "chit chat"? Don't think I've ever come across that one

    R391 FGY

Long shot this I know but have a gap in my cars history between May 2001 and May 2006 when it came into my possession which I would dearly love to know. The car is a silver 1800 Roadsport in original spec and would appear to have originated from the Reading area. Don't suppose the reg rings any bells does it?
  12. Hi Miura, thanks for your input but its all sounding far to involved and expensive at this time. Looks like I'll just have to settle for what I've got at the mo. Think perhaps I need to learn a bit more as well! Thanks for everyones advice though. ☹️

    Winter Lay Up

Sorry should have been more specific, when I said "trickle charger" that was my lay mans speak for a conditioner. I have her plugged in to a CTEK36 charger & conditioner which I have been advised is fine for prolonged lay ups such as over winter. That is unless someone knows different? I am also intrigued about the oil change advice I have received, only done around a 1000 miles since a service. Does the oill change recommendation still apply? I am currently tracking down axle stands to keep the tyres safe as they to are very recent Toyo R888's which I would hate to "oval" just by letting her sit there! Very many thanks for all your advice people, very much appreciated for us newbies.

    Winter Lay Up

    Winter Lay Up

Having taken the decision to take my pride and joy off the road for the winter she is now tucked up under her duvet (Breathable cover) and sat on her pink carpet in the garage. A trickle charger is taking care of her life support systems during this period. On the assumption that I am not the only one who chickens out of winter, what do others do as regards mainting the car through this dormant period? The car has been sorned so a quick blat around the block may be possible but a long run is clearly out of the question. Should I start her up now and again or will that do more harm than good? Your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated people, thank you.
  16. Hi Ian, Many thanks for that, looks like I need to do more research into costs and feasability first then. Much appreciated, thank you.

  18. Please could you advise if the throttle bodies would be a straight forward upgrade to my Roadsport (non VVC) 1800 K series? Would dearly love a little bit more grunt than my current 120 Bhp but my trouble is, I'm a non mechanic on a VERY tight budget!! 😳

    Nifty

Hi Nifty, Just aquired a set of Caterham wind deflectors and would be very interested in your adapters and mirrors. Any photo's available? Many thanks
  20. Just been through this one! Went for R888's in the end and although I can't comment on AO48's, highly delighted with the R888's. Got 5 from Camskill for £325 and cost me £40 to have old tyres off and new one's on.

    Which Tyres???

Right then, Toyo R888's it is then! Many thanks to everyone for your advice, gratefully recived!

    Which Tyres???

This question must have been asked hundreds of times before but as a relative newbie I am in need of guidance please. My 98 1.8K Roadsport is shod with Michelin Pilots which could very easily be originals!!! Don't seem to be able to locate a manufacture date and although they appear to be in good nick so I think it probably wise to change them. The question is what with? For the time being I have no intention of using the car for track days but would still like something with a decent amount of grip that won't throw me off the moment it turns damp. Any suggestions would be gratefully received!! Thanks people
