  1. To take the engine ( i always do engine & gearbox ) use the most forward bolt on the intake manifold to attach a hook and on the other side use the most rear ward bolt on the exhaust manifold to attach a hook connect with a chain to lift the engine out.
  2. Still looking for a Sierra shroud, condition not imported as it will be covered in leather.
  3. I guess you talk about the radius arm, you can replace the metalistic bush yourself but if you have a garage do for it you then better change the whole arm as they are only 51,52 https://caterhamparts.co.uk/radius-arms/19-radius-arm.html also have a look at the A frame bush for play.
  4. To break the Loctite you could try to wack the head of the bolt with a hammer, wel with a chase inside the allen head of the bolt
  5. I use Loctite SI5910, also fill up the space between half moon and sump front & rear of the engine.
  6. On a rally service it's all you have to do some work underneath the car including a g.box swap.
  7. First you have to define what causes the smoke, maybe it's just a valve stem seal that has come off if there are any to start with. A compression test followed by a leak down test would give you an idea where it might come from or as simple as your oil level is just too high.
  8. By the look of it there was all ready a massive crack on the damper support, it looks like the top ball joint part broke and maybe CC can sell u just this part.
  9. Tom, the Sierra calipers have 1 piston and a lot of moving parts whereas the Hi Spec has 2 pistons with no moving parts that makes a big difference. For the hand brake, other you use a bolt trough the eyelet or open up the hole in the lever like the one on the Sierra caliper.
  10. Tom, the Ultralite SVA caliper is a direct replacement for the Sierra caliper, it would be a good time to change from solid lines to flexible brake lines. Hi Spec uses a banjo connection so that is different from OEM. For the handbrake cable it must be possible to modify the caliper lever to accept the OEM cable. http://www.hispeccalipers.co.uk//svaultralite.html
  11. i have build a 7 with Hi-Spec all round but with vented rotors at the front and 2 pots at the rear as it's a track only car but with a std master cylinder and it's the best ever brake set up with the best pedal feel i had on any 7
  12. IMHO your oil leak must be lower than the rear crank seal, i don't think that the correct oil level is that high. Maybe you have hit something with the sump especially on the rear corners. Did you inspected it from underneath to see where the oil is coming from ?
  13. For a kit car i am building i need a Ford Sierra steering shroud, condition is not important as it will be covered in leather.
  14. A Bilstein for a live axle uses different bushes than the one from a DD.
  15. There is a club discount with DFaulkner springs. Since march i try to buy bushes from Bilstein with no luck but there was a intermediate company that would charge me 4 times the price of Bilstein ! I'll try my luck later in the year if things are back to normal.
  16. I have ordered N4246 with seat base for a SV chassis
  17. or contact these guy's https://brakeparts.co.uk/shop/Ford/Escort/90-95/Escort%20MK5%20Diesel%20Models%20INC%20VAN/Rear%20-%20Brake%20Pads%20and%20Shoes/BBA127
  18. from memory there are 3 solid colours from Kawasaki KAW6000,KAW6001,KAW6002
  19. I vouch for Wilcox, i had a problem with my brand new BDR and despite they didn't build it they ware very helpful and provided the date i needed.
  20. Sure it's not a problem.
  21. They are good quality seats the headrest has an extra reinforcement, they are a bit heavier than a Tillet but the first one i mounted is now 7 years and still pristine.
  22. I think that if you convert the current DD set up to the same as a 5 link Live axle set up it would improve on all dynamic's, for sure it would offer more squat and be a lot lighter and most important there is no chassis modification needed.
  23. The silicone hose i linked to do resist Petrol, not all silicone hoses are just silicone hoses. Expensive ? well dot he math : every 2 1/2 years 8 pound or a lifetime and piece of mind for 27 pound.
  24. Or go for piece of mind and a quality hose https://www.jsperformance.co.uk/silicone-hoses/other-silicone-hoses/straight-silicone-hoses/straight-silicone-hose-metre-length-fluorosilicone-hoses
