  1. The K-series dry sump pump belt failure is pretty rare actually. I don't know of anyone directly who has had one go.
  2. I firmly believe that this job was designed for people who are to Jobsworth to be a traffic warden.
  3. ECU fuse is quite likely! Call Caterham for the location of it and the recommended upgrade (they now fit a higher amp rated one).
  4. It is for venting petrol fumes into as it absorbs them. It is only fitted on early K-Series cars and was for type approval in other countries. I believe it is not needed in the UK.
  5. The Elite is a proper sequential box (not a conversion from an H pattern which can be heavy). It is a very lightweight gearbox with apparently good torque handling ability. I would go for a Raceco exhaust as this will be nice and light and quiet. Stack will not come with datalogging as standard.
  6. Lots of people seem to be happy with the Powerspeed exhaust despite the fact it seems to rattle loudly as standard Raceco are very high quality silencers that will quiten you down nicely but this quality will cost you a bit more. As a bonus the Raceco ones are siginificantly lighter and better made.
  7. Looks to be a nice spec. Have you not considered going for a sequential box? The amount of track work you are doing it would seem to add to the fun. I would also consider some kind of airbox as the Duratec is pretty loud (as Jackal found out) shame Arnie is no longer producing them.
  8. Don't believe there is anyone official further South.
  9. I don't think that can be right BOS as the 2CV has a lot more than 2 bhp! I always thought the 2 horses thing with that car referred to 2 cylinders?
  10. Why are you selling? Sorry not in the market but this will BTTT it!
  11. 1. Could be fanswitch or you might have an airlock in the system. 2. Engine should restart as nothing will tell anything in the engine not to start (no ecu) 3. Oil will take 15-20 minutes to reach full temperature depending on ambient temperature (keep revs low for this period) this is normal. 4. Could well need lubricating but not happened to me. 5. Its a Crossflow oil will try to escape all the time!
  12. Difficult to say then as I don't have a great deal of knowledge about the oils for Crossflows.
  13. Millers is very good quality oil but what engine do you have?
  14. I mean the key is shaped a but like a Q ie it is a hollow tube with a little protrusion from one side rather like the tale on the letter Q. This little tale locates the key at the right point in the circular arrangement of pins that these locks use. I think what has happened to your is that the barrel has moved slightly so that the tail cannot fit through the slot on the lock as it is not lined up. To cure this grind off the tail and you can now jiggle the lock open.
  15. Ken if it is the old type and the barrel of the lock has moved so that the little tail of the Q key will not go into the slot then grind it off! If you grind the little tail off the key will go in slightly offset and allow you to undo it.
  16. Autodelta are a bit like the Alfa equivalent of Brabus are they not? Kind of officially recognised.
  17. You could get it supersported by the factory to 140 bhp or Supersport R to 160+bhp Both these options mean that you maintain your resale value. Aftermarket tuning however good will tend to reduce you resale value and Caterham will not buy it back. Whatever some people on here say there are a good few people (specially newcomers) who will not buy a 7 not tuned by Caterham.
  18. Guys I would use Dinitrol if I were you. Scientific back to back tests by the MG owners club have proved that Dinitrol is more effectve. Apparently it not only protects better but actually penetrates through capillary action MUCH better than waxoyl which only went in a tiny distance. Their tests were done properly scientifically with test bits of metal in salt water spray tanks etc.
  19. Some of your guages (like fuel) will no longer hidden below your tonneau when in place. I have run out of fuel because I couldn't see the guauge under the tonneau!
  20. You are more likely to find some fresh rocking horse dung and some hens teeth!
  21. Have you got the cat back on? Taking it for a decent long blat first will helo as you will get the Cat nice and hot and make it work better. Then find a decent seven friendly garage who knows not to push the sensor in too far or it will burn the probe.
  22. What vintage is the engine? I reckon you are going to have trouble getting it through SVA but I could be wrong.
  23. I wouldn't do what you did Franky. That sounds like a recipe for boiling brakes!
  24. 74 with a BDA? That wouldn't be the original fitment would it?
  25. Never had any experience of any other uprated Caterham brake systems only the AP Racing Caterham one. I think the fact that the same braking system is used in the R500 to brake the 0-100-0 record says it all for me!
