  1. Skydragon - I'm the bloke who suggested you post here instead of Pistonheads. Are Stunners still eligible for 2009 Richard? I don't know I'm just asking. Irrespective of the tyre, you would benefit from going to 15 inch wheels, the shape of the contact patch gives better traction which is vital on list 1A tyres. You can usually find second hand ones on Blatchat.
  2. If anybody is dithering over this let me tell you I bought a 51 plate S60 2ltr turbo SE just 4 weeks ago except mine has done 86,000 miles - and it is bloody lovely. It's exceedingly quiet, very comfortable, corners very flat and direct and looks good. Everything seems very tight in it at 86.000 miles. Mine cost £2800 with 30,000 more miles than James's - so snap it up at £3500! ETA - and mine doesn't have a tow bar and 13 speaker sound system! Edited by - KenEvans on 31 Oct 2008 09:35:52
  3. Yes, 135 rears to help put the power down off the line and out of tight bends is the theory.
  4. Ah yes, fair point. Though I didn't change the settings at all last year when I was swapping between Stunners and Kumho without too much drama, and I got a late 57 at Curborough. However, it's possible of course that I could have squeezed an early 57 out of the car if I was sufficiently motivated and analytical to change the settings between tyre changes.
  5. It only ever under-steered for me when I went too fast into a bend I did suggest that Kevin changes nothing as I was getting close to record times in the hills and it handled perfectly. However, maybe the weight distribution has changed a little with me being a stick insect
  6. It looks like Kevin Evans was on the pace in his new acquisition Good to see
  7. Set of four removed from my Superlight R at only 7000 miles for an upgrade (supposedly). Good condition all round. Front springs Caterham part number 75511 M0 damper, rear springs 77844 M1 damper. £230 plus p&p the set Blimey - I've just looked how much Caterham want for these??? I've under-priced them!! 8. Adjustments made as per recommendations above. A bit here and a bit there and it did seem to start better. K80 RUM's settings were particularly helpful I'll see how it goes over the weekend. Thanks chaps.
  9. Blimey - there's a lot to think about up there! The Emerald is six years old and the software hasn't been updated since then. It doesn't have an IACV and the throttle body balance was set up very carefully by Dave Andrews. It sounds like I should have a chat with Emerald. Thank you
  10. Thank you for the comments. I'll understand better when I've taken a look at the Emerald software again for the first time in three years
  11. My SLR takes about 4 or 5 goes from cold to start and is a takes a little cranking when hot too. This is with no throttle and then giving it just a touch when it catches. It's a slow cranker anyway because it has a 15Ah battery to keep the weight down. I'll be looking at the Emerald settings in the next day or two. What should I adjust to make the starting a bit more "on the button"? Thanks Ken
  12. Ah, sorry Jex. Sold as a result of it being on here!
