  1. SLR's all have the Anti-Cav. as standard I believe. Dry sumping has more benefits than just protecting the engine it also release a couple of BHP I believe. I agree with Peter Anti-cav. is good and does help to prevent damage from oil surge as the oil is taken from the anti-cav. tank all the time. when the pump is starved the tank ampties slightly (it holds two litres of oil). As soon as the oil is being picked up again the tank goes back to full. Just having an extra two litres of oil in what is a relatively small oil system is of definate benefit in terms of oil temp as more oil means lower temps.
  2. I believe that the Honeycomb floor panels are only put in the drivers side normally. This is to allow the passenger side of the car to deform more in a racing accident (ie when not carrying passengers). Why do you want to adjust the passenger seat? Hope that helps!
  3. Classic now Rover because there are no Vauxhall engines left. Blackbird dropped for "commerical" reasons ie they just weren't selling enough and have been not being sold through Caterham for 6 months or more. Fireblade outside the agreement for the stated reasons
  4. They do all make a fair bit of noise from the diff. Not only is it part of the character but it would be very difficult to hide. Afterall remember that you are sitting virtually on the diff. this combined with bugger all sound proofing means you hear the transmission. My friend who has an Elise commented on the diff whining (it was the only thing the Elise did better). But I did have to point out he was a long way from the diff in his Elise!
  5. If you go on a driving course with "Hirstute" Hugh Noblett he will tell you off for using your engine to brake! Use the brakes more lad!
  6. Bike power would get you the pace of the SLR but depends what you go for. I don't think you could get a Crossflow to match a SLR at least not reliably. No experience with Zetec so couldn't say much about it. You may spend less overall on putting a new engine in but you will get very little of this back if you sell. May make better overall sense to trade in and go for something quick as standard (used SLR). This way you spend more but have a better value asset at the end of it. Just a though Dino
  7. Just fitted the PIAA ones and they seem to work really well and haven't blown (yet). Been for a couple of night blats and they seemed to be quite a bit better than the standard with a whiter light and better clarity. Will post on them again if they do blow prematurely.
  8. Caterham recommend Comma stuff. I believe that Syner-Z is the latest spec.
  9. Race engines do need refreshing remember how hard they are used! Even the Roadsports have engine refreshes about once a season and how often do you here of a 1.6ss needing a refresh? Racing is change light every change with competetive lap after lap! Evena hard track day driver is unlikely to put the engine under race stresses. Also in Caterham racing which has become very competitive in recent years the teams and drivers are looking for any advantage possible!
  10. Definately have ali radiator now which is nice. Taken the plunge then what have you gone for?
