  2. Tim, as you pointed out on the link; best thing anyone could do. Once done, the car can be filled at any Petrol Service station with ease. here here Edited by - RD on 25 Mar 2011 20:21:35

  4. One for the record; I needed a can of touch-up spray paint for the standard colour wheels. After rolling one of the Seven's wheels into my local Halfords, pulling out every can that resembled a grey colour, I found that a spray can of 'Rover Gunmetal' which is metallic to be a really good match. £7.
  5. Typical, I just went to check over the 7 before taxing it in a few weeks, and I also had a puncture on the rear offside. The car has been sorn since last November and was fine a week ago (in terms of not having a flat). So out with the soapy water and my ‘puncture’ was between the tyre and the wheel rim, inboard. Really strange as at 25psi about a 6” length was slowly bubbling away apparently lost its seal. Now I realise that this joint may not have resealed following re-inflation from being flat, but no other puncture present. The car is locked away in the garage at all times so I can only assume it was this loss of seal between the tyre bead and rim. Strange. Anyhow fortunately I had only last week picked up four new CR500’s from Dartford, so looks as though I will be fitting them as planned anyhow. The old set were beginning to look a bit aged, not down to the min tread, just aged ie hardened. Some thin cracks had appeared on the inside of the rears (245 40 15) at the end of last year, hence thought it right time to dig deep and buy some new.
  6. Should there be a next time; I used these for years in work here. Much better than helicoils and easy to fit as long as you can drill & tap.

  8. Easy to make, only cost a few pounds and I think the car was worth it ! Now at least during the winter months when its in bits, I don't keep knocking the bonnet/nose, which is nice.
  9. Dan, thanks for the wall comment! I got carried away the week before I bought my Seven; my son & I had an idea, which we then had to explain to SWMBO afterwards... I like it though Rob
  10. Details on how to make a set of storage brackets for nose & bonnet:- Buy four angle brackets (B&Q) ~ 10" leg length. Buy/acquire four lengths of tubing. I used steel at 20 or 22mm diameter but copper would work also. Tube length Bonnet 2 lengths 39 inches each, Nose 2 lengths 26 inches each. Four hose clips 30/40mm diameter Some cable ties - heavy duty. Four lengths of 22mm pipe insulation. The tubes are simply secured to the top sections of the bracket with hose clip nearest the 'wall' end and cable ties along length. Tubes cut to length and covered with pipe insulation. Secured to wall with 50mm screws. Fix to wall above head height to avoid walking into it ! A few pics here: Bonnet here here Nose here here Rob Edited by - RD on 16 Feb 2011 18:33:49
  11. If you want a pic of how to make them let me know
  12. I made the two nose and bonnet storage from four angle brackets, four lengths of steel tube, some securing clips and covered with 22mm pipe insulation. It worked a treat as they are on the garage wall right now. Cost very little. Rob

  17. Lets be honest here, if you search 'from the beginning', title box unchecked (as I usually need to) then a 500 error is a certainty, repeat a certainty. This has been on-going for many months now, could it be fixed please as the search facility is one of the major strengths of Blatchat. Rob
  18. Found the link on how here Rob
  19. Take the filler neck off the car, grind off the three spots welds holding the SVA flap in place, reassemble and from then on any pump will fit. Do a search on here; one of the links has pictures of the whole operation (was it Myles?). Rob
