  1. D'oh. Knew there was something else to add. These are 13" wheels. Cheers David
  2. Having now fitted my MBs I have a set of Minilites for sale. The fronts are 6" wide and the rears and 7" wide. All in excellent condition though two have the odd little mark on the rims though this is scuffed paint rather than actual damage and one rear has a little mark from an old sticky weight. None of this is enough to detract from their appearence. I am a polisher and wouldn't have had them on my car if not. Edit to add: These are De Dion fit. Here is a pic of them on my car. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1372/1225312908_d666784d26_b.jpg If anyone wants more detailed shots please ask. £200 if collected Postage would be a further £20 couriered. Thanks David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 18 Jul 2011 20:44:14

Get him to speak to Kenny. Get your friend to buy the car, change the wheels and he'll have an absoulte gem. Dave
  4. First of all you may want to use a clay bar first to really get rid of paint oxidants and grime that makes the paint feel rough. The thing is if you ask 10 people you may well get 10 different replies such is the wide range. Depends on your budget and how mad you want to go. For example I like a mild cut and polish like Klasse All-In-One and then cover with P21S wax. Cheers David
  5. BTTT Open to offers. Helps clear the garage. Cheers David
  6. Hi Midas, I had exactly the same problem you are encountering. I have the old AP Racing big brakes and bought a set of Supalite minilites and found that either front wheel would rub against the brake line that runs under the caliper. I looked into wheel spacers as Mr Locust suggetss but that meant I would have had the longer 40mm studs fitted to give me a comfoertable enough thread. In the end my answer was to move the wheels on and buy a different set of minilites that required no altering and no compromsing. Sorry I can't be of more help. I wouldn't want to rely on penny washers for too long. Cheers David
  7. Hi Mark, YHM x 2! Cheers David Richard, David - got your other emails today. Will let you know.
  8. Hi David, No mail has come through yet. Cheers David
  9. 5 x 16" HPC wheels fitted with Avon ZZ1 tyres. 4 of the wheels are suffering a bit of paint blistering but the fifth is pretty much immaculate. Would need a refurb to look perfect again. The tyres have loads of tread (5mm) but are quite old I think - always garage stored though. Perfect for a drift day? £75 Collection from the north Essex area. Cheers David
  10. I recently bought a set of MBs from a racer and have just had them fully refurbished with new rims so I have the following for sale: 2 x 1.5" outers @ £20 ea 1 x 2.5" outer @ £20 2 x 6" inner @ £35 ea ...plus postage. The inners are available as I have downsized the rears to 7.5". I will restate they aren't the prettiest - would suit a racer and not a polisher. Just to note - the inners are still attached to 2.5" outers - one of them has 'bought it' hence only one for sale. Don't know if I can split them. Thanks David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 17 Jun 2011 21:27:05
  11. Hi there, If you get no takers, rather than ditch them, contact one of the many ebay magazines sellers and sell your mags to them. I had about 70-80 mags to get rid of some years ago. A guy made a sizeable trip to my house to buy them all. I got about £100 for them. Of course they would go and offer them on ebay for £4.99 or whatever but everyone was happy. Cheers David

    Wheel fitment?

Hi Piers Ital and Ford axles have different wheel PCDs (the stud arrangement) so ital wheels won't fit I'm afraid. There are plenty of Ford minilites available so you should easily get some (in fact I will have some 6 and 7s for sale soon)... But I like the wheels on you car at the mo! Cheers David
  13. I thought it was in reference to the song. I kept a copy of the paper too but if Phil has got you one then that's cool. Cheers
  14. A full page 'Hire-a-Seven' article with CC's Andy Noble in this morning's Metro - including a Wightblat snap with Dignity's car (or is the car called Dignity, Colin??) hogging the limelight. Can't find the article on line at the moment though. Cheers David
  15. Not with the way their values have shot up over the recent years Such a shame. Such a pretty car.
  16. I love this club and the people in it! Rob, you're a star. I'll send you a BM tonight. Cheers David
  17. BTTT Just to add, I plan to refurb the centre caps so if you have some but the paint if is a bit iffy then that isn't a problem. Thanks David
  18. Ha, yes I recall you mentioning that. DIdn't you set fire to it or something. Maybe I will disconnect the negative lead before jiggling 😬
  19. Looking for 2 centre caps that fit the Mike Barnby wheels or the Compomotive CXRs if anyone has any knocking around they don't need. Must have no dings or blemishes though please (I'm a polisher not a racer ) Will take four if necessary. Thanks David
  20. Thanks Roger It's cheap and effective I guess so not all bad! Cheers Matt - good to know it's not just a problem unique to me and my car. Thanks David
  21. Whilst replacing the bottom rad hose on my injection HPC I have noticed that the straight water pipe that runs verticaly from the metal J-pipe is rubbing against the steering column. I have attached a picture http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5024/5690686967_a511fb4a6b_b.jpg You can see that there is a small shiny patch on the column where it rubs. To be honest it only feels like it is 'polishing' the column and doesn't feel like it is doing anything dramatically damaging to it. Also the hose seems in pretty good shape - it looks like some form of heavy duty pipe rather than a standard rubber hose (anyone know exactly what the pipe is made from?) and doesn't appear to be deteriorating. I'd like to know from any other VX Inj owners if their car suffers the same problem and/or what the solution might be to stop it rubbing. I guess I could use a long cable tie round the diagonal chassis rail and pull the J-pipe up away from the column but that seems a little too heath Robinson. Any ideas?? Thanks David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 5 May 2011 20:24:44
  22. Roger, Kenny, Thanks for the quick replies. Ive got some 1500 wet and dry so will flat it and see how I go. I had not heard great things about the plastic pistons so was going to swerve those. I wasn't looking forward to the refit but packing out the socket sounds like a good approach Cheers David Ps Kenny I take it you got the voicemail then. I too will try calling again this week.
  23. Sorry to drag this thread back up but I have only just got round to sorting the problem. Due to one thing or another I hardly used the car last year. anyway, having removed the OPRV the piston seems quite scored. See http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5103/5659219182_a877a660ab.jpg and http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5264/5658644759_80c2846d92.jpg I will try and flat it down with some 1500 grade wet and dry and maybe some polish too but do you think this is too heavily scored to be retained? Cheers David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 26 Apr 2011 22:28:36
