  1. If it does then my Ford Focus is going to become a GT40 tomorrow in the eyes of the DVLA and I'll sell it for a million quid. If I was CC, I wouldn't be impressed that someone could get that thing registered as my product. Cheers David
  2. Hi Ian, Sorry to hear of your woes. By specialist, do you mean a Seven specialist? If so have you tried Taylors Foundry Motorsport in Haverhill? here Sorry I am probably stating the 'bleeding obvious but thought I would mention it just in case. Cheers David Otherwise you always have Chris Wheeler in Hoddesdon who seems to be highly recommended on BC. Edited by - Lotus Boy on 12 Sep 2011 22:40:08
  3. At least Nick, given you run the 16 inch HPC wheels, you will have a slightly higher ride height than those who run 13's so that might just give you critical clearance. Wrightpayne - that's the one I was thinking about. Wasn't there a youtube video of it somewhere? Cheers David
  4. Nick, Just had a thought, given you mention the adapter sleeve. Was your engine supplied by CC or was the car an 'Engine Not Supplied' i.e. NS in the chassis number - in which case could it be that your engine was not modified with the sleeve and so the oil filters CC have suplied and that we have all recommended do not fit your thread? Might be best to find that out before putting the filter on. What was the filter that you had on the car previously? Cheers David
  5. Hi Nick, I read some reports on this a while back and getting the wrong filter can mean it can blow off...with not particularly healthy results. Seems odd that CC are suplying something different. I always use Framm filters and never seem to struggle with getting hold of one. The one you need is PH2874. Cheers David ETA - knew someone would beat me to it 😬 Edited by - Lotus Boy on 5 Sep 2011 19:30:51
  6. Oddly enough I was watching Noel's Le Mans Dream for the first time in a very long time (remember that programme from 1997 where Noel Edmonds goes to Le Mans with Panoz) and at the start of the 2nd episode I spy a Cat 21 brolly in the pit lane footage. Anyone still got one of those brollys I wonder??? Cheers David
  7. Nope, my Seven is the red one below I just saw the pictures on Pistonheads and noticed the Sevens. Like the look of yours I must say, stripes work well on it. Cheers David
  8. According to the photos on Pistonheads there was a green/yellow stripe one there too! Does yours have black stripes down the bonnet? Lots of snaps here (yours is on page 3 in the background of some snaps of a tidy Escort Mk1 I think) here Cheers David
  9. Change your signature Kenny...it's making me green with envy! . . . . . . . . . I don't blame you though, as I would have the same if it was sitting in my garage. 🥰 Oh and if it helps I run 17-18psi on my 888s Cheers David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 3 Aug 2011 21:46:27
  10. Quoting Domus: Car only been on the road since November. Just goes to show how hopeless the electrical senders and gauges can be. I appreciate that there are probably people on here who have been driving Sevens for years and years without problems but re your warranty, perhaps you could ask for a contribution to cost of a Mech set up rather than a replacement? Cheers David Edited by - Lotus Boy on 1 Aug 2011 12:48:55
  11. Just thought I'd ask...is it definitely the gauge? Senders are known culprits too. Shame you already have the new gauge as after having two failures I decided it was time to switch to a mechanical OPG and would always recommend the same to anyone. Must say I feel exactly the same about electrickery! Cheers David
  12. Guess this doesn't help much but dud a tyre calculator for standard CR and 888s Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference 185/60-13 4.4in 10.9in 21.7in 68.3in 928 0.0% 175/55-13 3.8in 10.3in 20.6in 64.7in 980 -5.3%
  13. Indeed Colin I have flared arches so a different wingstay. Sorry to hear of your woes Andrew
  14. I couldn't decide on 17 or 18 so mine are 17.5 cold all round. Cheers David
  15. It's tempting fate indeed. I have had one puncture in 6 years and was lucky that it was a slow puncture that deflated over night at home. On Sunday I drove for the first time without a spare (to Silverstone and back - some 200ish miles) and must admit I thought S0d's Law would be out to get me. Of course everything was fine but you just never know! Cheers David ps are squirty cans any good? I thought they ruined rims becuase the foam would set and stick to them?
  16. Thanks for all the replies. My car has a ZF LSD and it was that sort of damage that I was thinking could happen. Safe to say I haven't ever run the different shapes wheels but what it does mean is I can happily leave the spare at home when running the 13"s as I won't ever use it. Regards David
  17. I have set of 4 x 13 inch wheels (MBs) and also a set of 5 x 15s (prisoners). One of the Prisoners therefore is the spare. I don't have a 13 inch spare wheel. In the event of an emergency, I.e a puncture, would it be safe to drive with 3 x 13s and 1 x 15 wheel? Tyres are 13s = 185/60 fr and 205/60 rr 15s = 195/50 all round I appreciate there is a slight difference in diameter and rolling distance but could it damage the cars drive train ( thinking rears here) or affect steering in such a way to compromise if on the front? I only see it as a get you home emergency but would like to understand any risks? Cheers David

Hi Steve, I have just heard from Kenny and his car is still available. He should be along shortly to help give you any info you may like. Cheers David
  19. Blatchat has just gone to a whole new level 😬 😬 Thanks Barry
  20. Hope this is the right place... Why is it that if you 'add' images to posts they are still links and yet if you reply to a post all the pictures are visible in the posts below? Was that a conscious decision or have I missed something re my profile settings or something? Thanks David

Although it isn't being advertised at present I did think it is still available (or it was when I spoke to him a month or so ago). His car is cycle winged but is a 218bhp stage 1 Swindon upgrade (factory fitted when new) on carbs, rather than Injection. Cheers David
  22. In respect of first dibs I have received an email directly.
