  1. How old were the seals that you used " from stock". I understand they can harden over time.
  2. Were the oil rings spaced correctly on rebuild?
  3. to suit a 7 Anyone? Clive
  4. Daft question... you have removed the old stat?
  5. Saw the tail end of your car in the car park at "The Bog" this afternoon. Lovely day for a blat and a walk. Clive.
  6. Hi Martyn, I've looked at the stick on replacements and the one's I've seen are glass, so difficult to cut to shape. A bit of acrylic would be great. Cheers, Clive.
  7. Pigeon flew out of the hedge hitting the n/s mirror on my aero screen. Mirror body is fine, but the mirror glass ( plastic ) has gone. If anyone has a 120 x 60 mm ( or bigger ) old bit of mirror kicking around, I can cut out another. Cheers, Clive
  8. I'm interested in the side inlet airbox, as it may fit the R1. Do you have any photos and how much would you want for it? Cheers, Clive.
  9. Received this a.m. Now on the car. Looking very bling! To save any wiring problems, I managed to fit them over the existing rubber blocks. Just had to trim them a touch. Thanks very much for all your efforts. Clive
  10. As JV says, sounds like a lack of oil issue? How do you check your oil level? With the Apollo, it has to be done hot and running and can be very difficult to confirm on the dipstick. But maybe it's not, as I'd have thought that it would have destroyed the crank by now. Can't understand why CC couldn't diagnose the problem??
  11. Whereabouts in the country are you? There's likely to be someone local to you who would advise. A bit more info on the car and engine spec would help. Is it EU2 or 3, dry sump, Apollo or standard Milage, oil use? Clive
  12. I had something similar on the R1 at Oulten Park last year. Track day had to be abandoned. Eventually traced it to be a couple of snots of silicone sealant in the fuel tank pick up, restricting flow to the pump. I replaced the fuel filter, but this didn't cure it as the snots were in the pick up. Cured by blowing back through the fuel line, then cleaning out the tank. Don't know how they got in there! Clive
  13. Phil, Have PMed you. Clive.
  14. The doors will need a bit of trimming and possibly bending using a heat gun to get the fit right. The leading edge tucks inside the scuttle. I've also used some self adhesive door trim/seal rubber along the bottom of the door edge to seal against water spray coming from the front wheels. Mine are fixed with rivnuts / bolts, but some use the tonneau poppers. Clive ( aka Ivaan )
  15. Mine are carbon look and are fine, actually lighter than carbon fibre ones and about 1/8 the price. You have to attach them well. I stuck mine on with Sika 622 ( I think ). It's the only Sika that sticks ABS plastic. Now been on the car for 3 years ( 15,000 miles ) with no issue. I also bought the half doors to. Clive
  16. What happens if you press down hard on the brake peddle and hold it for a while? Is it solid or does it sink slowly down? Clive

Mr Cooke parked under the trees by the river Severn in Shrewsbury, enjoying the Carnival? Hope the brolly kept the birds**t off of the seats?
  18. What about an R1 installation. No dry sump. Plenty of engines about. 180 bhp sub 400 Kgs ( depending on chassis type ) But you'll need a reverse to meet MSA rules Clive
  19. Redline also sell the stuff.
  20. I use an Oxford Bikers helmet bag, intended to be strapped to the tank on a bike, but works equally well on the uprights on the roll bar. Your local motorcycle dealership will have a few varieties. Mine's locked to the roll bar with a cycle lock. Clive.
  21. I'm very impressed with the Toyo R888Rs. Superb in the dry and handle the wet / damp very well.
  22. The new Toyo R888R's are a great tyre. Brilliant grip in the dry, and handle wet / damp surfaces really well. I've recently had a set fitted, and they're definitely a step up from the R888s. Clive
