  1. Hi Phil, Payment sent by bank transfer and address forwarded via PM. Many thanks, Clive.
  2. I have one fitted to my BEC, but it has a separate on/off switch in the power feed. When you're going slow, or in traffic, you'll be using the clutch as normal, so don't want the ignition to cut out. Sounds like it may be set up wrong, with too long a cut out allowing too much unburnt fuel to build up. Mine's set for milliseconds, just to unload the gearbox when you're pulling back the gear lever, but the timing must be right. I don't tend to use mine much, as I prefer a quick throttle peddle lift to do clutchless upshifts. Does your's blip when going down the box? Probably no harm done. What exhaust can do you have? Clive.
  3. Kendricks in Llangollen are Caterham specialist. Owner used to sprint. Would be a nice cross country run for you. Clive.
  4. My tank developed a crack / leak where the baffle plates are welded in.
  5. Great idea.. much better than the old rubber blocks. 1 set for me please, in black with the rubber. Payment upfront is fine, just let me know how you want payment. Thanks, Clive.
  6. Try here http://westermann-motorsport.com/index.php?page=product&info=22 but you'll need to check that they are the full wrap around ones. Clive.
  7. If you had a friend with another Blackbird ( NC ), with the two cars stood side by side, couldn't you use a temporary extension wire to feed from the sensor on one car to the Stack on the other, and vice versa? Then you'd find out which was faulty.
  8. Have a look in the dark/ Any electric leaking out anywhere? ( or grab hold of the HT leads whilst the engine's running )
  9. Hi Oliver, When my conversion was done, I had similar problems with both new Sierra calipers binding on. It turned out to be the pair of internal spring washers behind each piston, not being strong enough. These prevent the piston being wound up tight onto the disc when the handbrake is applied. They retain enough movement in the piston to allow them to return..if you see what I mean. Both sides of mine were swapped over for pairs from old calipers.. no more binding. They are like a pair of small washers back to back, but with a twist/bevel in them to give them a bit of spring.
  10. Were you parked by the river? Reg DXX ??? I walked past your car on the way up town, meant to post you on Spotted Clive.
  11. Okay thanks. I thought that the upper/lower wishbone geometry kept the wheel at the same relative angle to the vertical despite the suspension movement. Clive
  12. Easy question ( if you know the answer ). Does the front wheel camber change according to suspension loading? i.e. should camber be measured with the driver in the car, or does it make no difference? Thanks, Clive
  13. Sounds like you need to fit a PRRT Thermostat. Once fitted, ( and it's an easy job ), the temp will stay constant and you'll not have airlock problems. They're fitted to K Series Landrover Freelanders. There are two versions - different temperatures - If you do a tech search you should find the details.
  14. Wheel bearing? Is one side hotter than the other after a blat?
  15. I would hope it's only condensation. It's been pretty cold / wet these past few nights, and if the car went into the garage hot, it would hold moisture. If it still happens in the warmer / drier weather then it may need a bit more investigation. Clive
  16. I used to get my car through by altering the valve timings via the verniers whilst it was in the MOT bay. The SS cams give quiet an overlap between exhaust valve closing and inlet opening, so some neat fuel can go straight through the cylinder without burning. I had the proper ( Oily's method ) timings marked on the verniers, then I'd retard the inlet and advance the exhaust a touch. With some trial and error and a couple of fail runs, it would come up and give the right readings. As soon as the MOT was over, put the cam settings back to the original marks. When moving the verniers, turn the engine over by hand before starting, just to ensure the valves don't hit the piston. It's a faff and you need an understanding MOT station to allow you to do this, but I done it several times with my old K series. Clive

  18. In heavy rain, full hood up and carrying luggage. Where were you headed?
  19. Sounds like clutch release bearing. It's a doughnut shaped ring bearing that presses on the clutch diaphragm when the clutch peddle is depressed, thus freeing the clutch plates and disengaging the engine from the gearbox, allowing gear changes. That's an engine out job, but easy enough. Where abouts are you? I'm sure you'll have some locals to give a hand. Clive.
  20. Conwy Falls ---- eggs benedict Definitely need to sort out a date! Clive
  21. Hi Colin, What a great day it was! 4 cars left Shrewsbury, we headed to Lake Vernwy, then over the top to Bala. The others had to get back for chores / dinner / SWMBO. I couldn't get so close to "That" road without having a couple of runs ( each way ). No traffic, dry and warm(ish). *biggrin* *biggrin* What route where you taking? Clive

    Tyres

Been out today with the new R888Rs on the car. Roads dry with wet patches / standing water. Done approx 150 miles around South Shropshire / Powys. I know I'm comparing 2 year old, worn R888, with new rubber, but they induced great confidence. Very very grippy, and handled the wet patches without unsettling the car. Very impressed. Clive
