  1. Hi Martyn, If you're splitting them up, I take the issue with the R1 article in it. I'll let you know the month/date later. That'll create a lot more space. Clive.
  2. Quiet a few of us have dual master cylinders with a balance bar. If you decide to go down this route, I have a pair of Willwood mcs with integral resevoirs. One 3/4" other 5/8", that you could have. ( donation to NtL? ) Clive.
  3. Hi Elie, I've recently bought a complete sender unit from Redline, so my old float is spare. The new one is like a table tennis ball, but the old more of a tube. If you're interested, ping me a blatmail, and I'll get it to you. Clive

    tight nuts

13 year old ZV3's to brand new R888R's will be a huge difference.
  5. Paul and Paula out in my old car, enjoying the sunshine. Great to see you. Clive
  6. Redline ..... Sorted!
  7. Hi David, Is this still up for grabs. If so, I'll PM you an offer. Cheers, Clive.
  8. Have you tried Andy Bates, AB Performance. He's currently selling off a lot of engines. Might have something.
  9. JK - You want me to do the Daz test! Biggest concern I have with using detergent / solvents on the wheel,is to know it won't cause any shrinkage / stitching stretch problems. If others have washed theirs, then I'm probably safe. I'll get hold of the suggested Bilt Hamber Surfex HD and give it a go. ( never heard of it before ) Wheel is coated with several years of grime and grease. I'll report back on the outcome. Thanks all. Clive.
  10. Mine's looking distinctly grubby and the leather worn. What's the best way to revive? Cheers, Clive
  11. Are all the fuel sender units the same, or does it depend on car model / age? I need one for an imperial 1988 live axle car. Lots of similar looking one's on E-bay, but can't identify the right unit. Would Redline know / stock? Cheers, Clive.
  12. I use a cheapo de-humidifier in my garage for a couple of days if putting car away wet. Take out the carpet, boot contents, floor and dry things asap. Use WD40 or similar when the car's fully dry in all the nooks and cranies. Clive
  13. You can get a set of adjustable height sleeves to fit your existing shocks. They're fairly straight forward to fit and would work out cheaper than a new set of tyres. With a flat floor set up, I suspect the handling would also improve. You'll then have a full choice of wheel sizes / tyres.
  14. I understood that the old bit of ply in the boot was partly there for safety reasons. It'll crumple in a rear end impact. Anything too strong could penetrate the rear panel/seat.

    Bleeding Brakes

Have you installed new pads? In which case it could just be that they need bedding in. Does the brake peddle hold up firm with constant foot pressure on it, or does is continue to sink down? If so, then you have a problem with the master cylinder seals. Having the calipers re-furbished means that the system has been drained for some time, so the seals could suffer.
  16. Before starting the engine, put the car in gear and try rolling to and frow with the clutch depressed. Should let you know if the clutch is disengaging.... or not!

    Odometer

I have an Aim Digital dash. It all works but the odometer is stuck. Aim can't repair as it's too old and the newer units are a different shape, so won't fit the dash ( carbon fibre ) hole. Second hand replacements do come up on e-bay, occasionally, but around the £300 mark. Clive

    Odometer

Question:- Is it mandatory to have an odometer on a road going car?
  19. How about wrapping the sensor and cabling in self amalgamating tape to give it some protection?
  20. Get hold of Titanium7 on here ( Martyn ) who done this fairly recently on his R500 K series.
  21. Have you cleaned out the tank and fuel lines? I had a snot of clear silicone sealant in my tank. It would go through the tank pick up tube, but stop at the entrance to the fuel filter. The car would start and run fine, until you put your right foot down, then it'd loose power and fart around. Slow down to stop, and it would run freely again. Changing the fuel filter made no difference. If you took off the fuel hose at the engine end there'd be plenty of fuel there. Took a lot of head scratching to finally sort. Clive.
  22. The trouble is the lack of use and age of trackday tyres. I have a set of slicks and old R888s for trackdays, but both are at least three years old and the new rubber on the car for road use ( R888R ) is far superior. Need to do more trackdays!
  23. R888Rs are a great tyre for a 7. The tracking set up will also affect tramlining. You may need a touch of toe in for road use. Clive
