  1. Thanks all. I've been to Tom before, but a around £300.00 he is a bit expensive. I've also had a bash at doing it myself, and already have a sync-meter, but don't seem to have the 'touch' somehow. Looks like I'm going to have to have another go! Cheers, Col
  2. Hi Guys, Who is the 'go to' man for tuning twin Webers in the Southampton / Portsmouth area? Cheers, Col
  3. I just drilled two holes that roughly matched the chassis mounted tabs, and used a couple of tie wraps. Col
  4. Ice cold lager, from ice cold glasses doesn't work in Britain in August. You need something warm! You have been away a long time. Col
  5. I've also had this a couple of times. I think its because the hazard switch is rarely used, and the contacts corrode. Col
  6. Just hope whoever buys it uses it. They were built for rainy days as well as dry ones. Bet it polishes up well though. Col
  7. I have just replaced the existing Banner. Online & charged. Surprised it is classed as a lawnmower battery! Col
  8. Bit wide shouldered for the top strap, which parted ways a while ago. Just use the bottom one now. Col
  9. Just me, but I've always thought no screen and a helmet, in a road car, is just a tad OTT. Col
  10. Ditto with Aero. The Zetec is a much better drive than a crossflow. Sounds a great deal for anyone contemplating the change. Col
  11. Not sure if Tom is still going. He has a rolling road, but not the latest all singing all dancing kit for modern engines. Col
  12. TomB; Go and stand in the corner. I use mine all year with a 175 Zetec on 185/60/14's,Yokohams 48's, and haven't had any problems in twelve years. I didn't buy my car to sit idle for six months either. Enjoy it!! Col
  13. Excellent report. I expect I am not the only one who has poor lights, so this type of test is just the thing I am looking for. Col
  14. would they need changing after just 11k? .......or is it upgradis??
  15. I assume JW means James Whiting - so ask him! James is the man when it comes to Zetec 7's, and just about anything else. Col I run a 2ltr blacktop, installed by James on 45's. 175bhp.
  16. I tried all of the above, was very careful with the prep, put loads of stuff on - but they have both come off again. Now bolted the buggers on. just let them try.................................
  17. Good luck with that. You dont say what size, but whatever, they are like hens teeth. I wanted just the one (14 185/60) just before Easter, and did not get a single reply. Fortunately I bagged two virtually brand new, and wheels, from Caterham south at the bank holiday open day. As I say, good luck!!
  18. Tazio, You pays your money.................... I run my Zetec 175 on 14 185/60's that suit me. There is also the question of a car being 'over tyred'. I have never had an incident with the tyres I use. Col
  19. Tell it like it is Tazio! Monster racing??
  20. Andy; its not going anywhere!!! I think there was a limit of 850 various prints made of Freedom. Col
  21. Seems with the above answers - yes it will. Easy really.
  22. Sorry to p*ss on your chips boys, but I have the original Freedom painting 'won' in the club raffle and presented to me at the 2006 Silverstone Classic. And there is absolutely no way I am parting with it! I wrote to Alan Fearnley soon after the presentation and received a lovely fax from him via his agent. At the same time, and occasionally up to last time last year - but no more - I have tried to get a comment from Chris Rea. Nothing from Chris though. I seem to remember an interview with Derek Bell in LF who (I think) has the original of Auberge. Col
