Same as a classic mini or Morris Minor. 3/8 UNF, make sure you get the correct taper to suit your wheels. If Redline don't have them try Minisport, Minispares or Charles Ware Morris Minor centre.

I find that the performance of 1144's drops off with age. A new set might give you the improvement you're looking for.

The roll bar or cage is more than adequate. Just get some "tow" stickers from ebay.

Unfortunately I suffered a clutch failure at Anglesey at the weekend and have had to withdraw. (Comp Sec, Clerk of the Course and Admin Team notified by email) Worse still, I'm on holiday for the August Curborough round.

Sounds like a faulty ignition switch to me. As in Jonathan's diagram, the ignition switch contact closes to put a 12V supply to the lamp. If that contact is stuck closed you will have the fault described. If the contact is open I don't see how an alternator fault could light the lamp.

My guess is that one stud was shortened to fit a locking wheel nut.

The flywheel bolt on a verto clutch mini is 30mm.
