  1. Hi guys, I am thinking of going for wide front suspension. Are there any pitfalls? With the extra levarage, will the springs / dampers need upgrading (I am going to replace them anyway) ? Is it worth it? I only intend the car for road use. Cheers, Col C.J.Cooper

Dr John spotted taking photos of "other" cars in Arlesford, Sunday 6th. We went back to say hello! Colin & Sue Blue xflow P7ACE C.J.Cooper
  3. Thanks again lads, In the end this is really quite easy. I cut an old 5 gallon tank lengthways, leaving the spout. it just slides under, & once the lower union is undone catches all the oil - no mess at all. Cheers, Col C.J.Cooper
  4. Thanks Lads, Definately no drain Graham. Looks like on with the marrigolds, and off with the hose! Cheers, Col C.J.Cooper
  5. Hi Guys, Without disconnectiong the bottom tank hose, and getting oil everywhere, how do you change the oil? The drain plug & filter only drain a tiny part, and I can't see any obvious way to do it. Col C.J.Cooper
  6. Were you the yellow one? I was heading east on the 272 around that time. I had just upset a Porche 911 Careara S who seemed to like following horse boxes. Col C.J.Cooper
  7. Adam, As far as I am aware the engine is as original, with 45's. I've had it for 18 months with no problems. Can't check the engine number as I work away all week. You are probrobly right in that it just needs a tune up. I might give Steve Parke a ring though, Windbag. Col C.J.Cooper
  8. Yes, I have a 170bhp motor, and yes the valves almost touch, so it doesn't look promising. Does anyone have a current addresss for Roger King? Thanks lads, Col C.J.Cooper
  9. At the monent I run an XF on 4 star. This works ok locally as Sainsbury's sell the replacement stuff, but it pinks badly on enleaded + additive. Has anyone any experience on changing to an unleaded head? The engine is a tuned Roger King item. is he still about? C.J.Cooper

  11. Cheers lads, I think its the half doors, and perhaps the Nifty's. Does anyone have an address for Nifty? Col C.J.Cooper

  13. I have just fitted the Caterham side wind deflectors. This obviously leaves me with no wing mirrors. What has everyone else done? Col. C.J.Cooper

    Tuning

Hi Guys, A few weeks ago some of you were regailing the virtues of a rolling road / tuning firm in Northampton. I forgot to take the details before the thread was lost. Phone number & name please. Can anyone recomend a similar outfit in the south? I live in Southampton. Thanks in advance, Colin 1700 X flow
  16. Hi guys How much oil should I put in my 1700 supersprint dry sump tank? I have had varying suggestions from 3.5 to 6.5ltrs. I have 5 in at the moment and the pressure seems ok - a bit low at idling though. Col
