  1. What gearbox is it, Ford 105E 3 rail type? I think originally they used a Triumph Herald extension modified to fit. Later I think a Cortina extension was used that fitted straight on One like this
  2. Reply to #1 David, I see you have now had a reply from Phil Robinson (he copied me in to it). Shame about the potential wait until October
  3. I use Red Line CV-2 Synthetic Grease for wheel bearings (and CV joints)
  4. One way of getting standard coloured wires is to get a scrap loom from an old british car. See if you can find a friendly breakers yard If you cannot find the wiper fixing bracket elsewhere this should be the same 37H4836 - Mini wiper motor stainless steel strap with seal (minispares.com) You will also need one of these if you have not got one ALA6642 - Mini wiper motor rubber mounting pad (13h4718) (minispares.com)
  5. I have got this diagram which I think is from the 1992 guide John mentions above Do you know why it is bypassed? Could be because it is leaking.
  6. You could try phil@archmotor.co.uk PM also sent
  7. There is not a gasket - there is an O ring. As an aside I think the only difference between a high pressure pump and a standard one is a stronger spring on the relief valve. I would prefer a high capacity/high pressure pump (has a deeper rotor as well as stronger spring)
  8. Have you tested the play in the bearings since the MOT yourself?
  9. It is a Freestyle built car, i.e a modified Caterham
  10. No, it is a Freestyle Caterham (as the topic title). 2016_02_04_Freestyle.pdf (lotus7.club)
  11. What is the issue with the dampers you have at the moment?
  12. Pair of shims £56.50 (more than the actual pedal). I would say that that makes washers an attractive alternative
  13. The wiper set up is essentially Mini. I am not sure if there are any differences (rack and tube lengths and arc swept) but there will be lots of second hand Mini stuff on the market so could be worth exploring. Even new Mini parts will be available and probably at less cost than CC
  14. If I right click the little icon and ask to open image in new tab I get this message:
  15. Still there at the moment. Street view was 2020 but the Gym website says they are still operating
  16. And this is the Lotus Cheshunt factory (taken from Google street view). Building look pretty much identical to old photos, totally different use though
  17. Good that Chris can help. All of the previous advice was assuming you had a live axle so we were all wrong
  18. And if it is Ford what diameter drums you have - 8" or 9"
  19. Price is there - £150 (next to the first photo)
  20. The Sytec FPR is fine and you could use an inline Sytec filter (glass bodied so you can see what is going on). I have a similar FPR on my Mini (branded Purolator). It could even be the same, just different branding. I am told the numbers on it are not actual psi values, just a scale. May be sensible to make provision to measure the fuel pressure. On the Mini the FPR and filter are on the front bulkhead and I have a solid state Facet pump in the boot As an alternative there are Filter King FPRs that have provision for a fuel pressure gauge. So all 3 things in one unit
  21. Plain ended pipe should be fine with rubber pipe connections. Just make sure you use proper round clips (not jubilee type) Copper Fuel Line | Car Builder - Kit & Classic Car Parts Specialist
  22. So yes worth replacing even if just for peace of mind.
  23. Possibly! I have no idea what the pressure rating of the plastic pipe is. Is it the original pipe? May be worth replacing anyway considering potential problems with E10 fuel. Presumably you are replacing an original mechanical pump
  24. As has been said in previous threads the key thing to do while a head is off is get the exhaust valve seat inserts done for unleaded petrol. This may well also need work doing to the valve guides as well, again to suit unleaded. This will not be a cheap thing to get done but there is quite a cost in getting the head off, cleaned up and replaced anyway and this cost will be duplicated if the seats are done at a later date. As Beagler says this also gives you the chance to check the state of the bores and state of the rocker gear
