  1. Good Morning, we're not quite ready for a club group tour yet, so apologies for being slightly off topic, but we are heading to Dijon for the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or next June with arrangements by Fast Track (who by the way are great with at venue arrangements having done the last couple of Le Mans Classics with them). So we like to travel independently but the one thing I always struggle with is getting locations of petrol stations on a route off the beaten track in France (with a mighty crossflow averaging less than 25mpg if driven correctly😉it is always reassuring to know where we can next top up). We never use the autoroutes, always scamper through the countryside. Be very grateful if anyone has a clever method/link. Many thanks in advance, R
  2. Many thanks Roger, sadly I am not a capable mechanic (yet) at any level so I have taken fright and am fitting a new High Pressure pump complete (to be accurate someone who knows what they are doing will fit it for me). On that subject Wilcox Competition Engines have been very helpful and efficient in supplying parts.... I am taking the old girl (and A7 XFO :) ) to Le Mans next week so want to be more safe than sorry!
  3. Hi....I have a weep of oil from a "new" high pressure pump (from Redline) fitted about 12 months/2000 miles ago. It is the end plate of the pump where it is leaking, secured by 3 x 10mm bolts (they are all tight). Anyone suffered similar...is it simply a gasket replacement likely needed or more sinister? It drips down the filter then of course is blown back under the whole drivers side of the car underway. Thanks in advance.
  4. It's an M5, all sorted, thanks all..... on this subject the reason this happened was I have fitted new filter elements....should they be oiled/sealed as when washed or are they ok as supplied and only need KandN wicking when washed?
  5. Many Thanks, my others are all glued in too!! I am going to try my local non franchise garages tomorrow and hope for some luck! I can't believe it isn't a standard thread etc, it's just knowing I suppose. Time will tell....
  6. Hi, so pic one shows the correct rod with machine screw securing the carb side of the filter housing, pic 2 show where the machine screw (that is now missing in action somehwere in the Meon Valley) used to be on the other rod. Please does anyone know the exact spec/size of the missing machine screw? Thanks in advance..
  7. Top, thanks....that's what I've been doing so happy days....
  8. Hi, next beginners question......"hot" as in just had a blast around Hampshire and temp is normal with Kenlow kicking in when idling...not too hot.....is there a best way of turning off? I mean just turn off and that's that, or high idle in neutral for a few minutes, or a blip of revs then shut down? Or as in a modern engine it really makes no odds. Thanks.....
  9. Forgive the possible absurdity of the question but are they simply moulded green and then polished or are they painted? I would assume the former but I met the mother of assumption once.....
  10. How did I miss that in the assembly guide....thank you....will check it out....R
  11. Hi, how can I check the oil level in the gearbox....having looked at the assembly guide and an owners handbook I am none the wiser....thanks in advance....R
  12. Just a shadow......will need to get in there with a toothbrush and some Lanoguard at the weekend......
  13. Mystery solved, this is the arm in question with worn bushes. In the meantime new bearings etc for the half shafts have cured the loud clonk at the back end so it no longer sounds like a wheel is about to fall off in a quick and tight corner :)
