  1. Not sure Anthony but I think so, I will take a photo in the light tomorrow
  2. The Arch Motors chassis number (assuming it is an Arch chassis). On mine it is stamped on the RH rear shock mount
  3. The 20 in the Arch number must be a serial number not a week number, mine is AM 85 702
  4. Yes, when I went to Caterham in 1985 to pick up my S3 body/chassis kit I was shown the development going on for the de Dion Mine is KS30045R and also has a 1985 Arch chassis number
  5. 10V regulator available here if you can't find one Caerbont | Smiths Classic Voltage Stabiliser | Merlin Motorsport BR1307-00NEG
  6. This is a wiring diagram that comes with Smiths classic gauges, shows the ones that use 10V
  7. The Smiths instrument system used one of these which provides a stabilised 10V
  8. Flat out acceleration will be slower, don't know how noticeable it will be. Top speed - I think it depends on what is limiting top speed at the moment
  9. Bit of confusion over terminology there JK. I would say it is the other way round, i.e. the higher the ratio the lower the engine speed - think of it in terms of gearbox ratios, top is certainly higher than first. Of the two RV-4 mentions the 3.9 is higher (and is certainly the one I would use for cruising)
  10. I guess you have missed a 0 off there 😉
  11. That's the one Anthony I found it on Merlin Facet Red Top Electric Fuel Pump 6.5-7.0 PSI from Merlin Motorsport
  12. Anthony, does the newer pump have a part number stamped on one of the mounting feet, probably 6 figures starting with 4 and followed by E. Apparently current range do
  13. As requested John, similar available for oil temp Smiths Classic Mechanical Water Temperature Gauge from Merlin Motorsport TG1310-01078

I have read them and I would never buy anything on those terms. I suspect some of them may even be illegal , especially wrt distance selling regulations
  15. Why do you want to change them? One issue with the oil temp will be where do you put the sender bulb - with a wet sump it can go in a sump plug adaptor but dry sump I don't know, don't think it will fit where the electrical sender fits
  16. Anthony, do you leave that gauge permanently in place? This from the Demon Tweeks site: The Sytec in line fuel pressure gauges have been developed to monitor fuel pressure when making final adjustments to the fuel system. The in line gauges are available in two pressure range types, with the 1-7bar range glycerine filled, and each including a male thread for attaching to an adaptor (available separately). The gauges are designed for setting up of the fuel system only and not recommended for permanent use. (my bold). Blanking plugs are available
  17. So in the short term, until this is decided, if there is something incorrect or even dangerous (from a technical aspect only I suggest) perhaps a request could be made for it to be corrected
  18. Would someone with admin rights have the ability to edit posts after the 7 day cut off?
  19. I use the 'unread content', seems to do the job!
  20. I should add that mine is a live axle (English Ford)
  21. On my 1985 S3 there is nothing of any significance that is metric (the screws/nuts holding the wings on may be metric).
  22. And when you do that I suggest changing the clips to proper petrol pipe clips, not jubilee (worm drive) clips. Petrol pipe clips stay round and compress the pipe evenlyThis sort of clip
  23. John, I have seen that and of course that helps but there was an option for people to put a location in their profile. For example I was discussing technical issues with Gridgway (Graham) recently and by clicking on his name I could see he is in Epsom (so too far to offer to nip round and see if I could help)
