  1. #1 Are you saying it was correct but for some reason it has now changed?
  2. At a small local show in Hertford Castle gardens A nice Elan Sprint A Europa And a real curiosity - A 192? Seal. I suppose a motorbike and sidecar except both driver and passenger sit in the sidecar!
  3. Thanks for the responses
  4. Not seven related but I have just bought some new tyres for my Mini (Yokohama A032). All tyres have both yellow and red dots. On two of them the dots are opposite each other and on the other two they are about 45 degrees apart. The wheels are MB racing split rims. How should I align the dots relative to the valve?
  5. Classic Mini 8B12396 - Mini Spares Onlne Shop One source of blanking plugs
  6. #5 So it is the pads squeaking as you have confirmed bearings are OK. The above two answers may give a solution
  7. Does it go away with gentle pressure on the brake pedal?
  8. Does it turn the engine over OK with the plugs out?
  9. And these are the details off the DVLA
  10. Did you ever get any photos David?
  11. Title (minispares.com) Anything here any use?
  12. The sources of parts are various RWD Escort models, depending on whether you want 8" or 9". Some Mk 1 Escort bits may be difficult to find (I really struggled to find handbrake operating levers (the ones sticking out the back of the drums) but found some in the end). The Ford owners club forum is quite useful and is free to join and post. The classic Ford forum in particular Classic Ford - Ford Owners Club - Ford Forums
  13. I may be misinterpreting what I recall seeing but I remember seeing something that implied that LED bulbs could be used in vehicles that old without failing MOT
  14. Do you have an old one as a template Graham? I think Speedy Cables will make one for you
  15. You may of course find that one spline puts it too far and it will be off in the other direction. Edit: There will probably be 36 splines so 10 degrees/spline
  16. From the Jeremy Coulter book This is the only place I can find reference to a B prefix. What year is the car supposed to be? And repeat what others have said. Photos of the car will help a lot
  17. Firstly I doubt if you will know who the manufacturer is, just the brand it is being supplied under. Also copper pipe is an alternative and possibly easier to work
  18. If the tap is the correct one there is no reason why it should remove more metal (unless the thread in the hole is deformed or it is not started correctly). It will remove dirt and debris from the thread
  19. So yes Ian, that looks like the hex that is also used on 10mm thread dia plugs (5/8", 16mm)
  20. Ian, so do those plugs have a different hexagon size (I am not familiar with K series)? My "normal" 14mm plug socket is 13/16" about 21mm hex. I can't measure my 10mm plug socket because that is in the garage and I am not going out there tonight but looking up 10mm plugs says the hex is 5/8", approx 16mm which would explain the Halfords description I have just edited this to correct an error and add info
  21. 10 mm and 14mm are the plug thread diameters, not the socket size
  22. Redline? If Chris does not have them then someone like Demon Tweeks
  23. If you are going to change the oil then before hibernation is the time to do it. The main issue with oil is becoming contaminated with combustion products so best to get rid of these before the engine stands idle for some time. If you want to be really careful then warm up the old oil, drain, refill and circulate oil on the starter without starting the engine. This may, however, all be a bit OTT if your oil is not very old to start with.
  24. Perhaps try clamping the lower column in a vice (soft jaws if possible) using the flat on it and use the steering wheel on the upper to try and turn. If you need to resort to hitting things use a copper hammer if you can (or at least something soft between the hammer and column)
  25. If the tester is saying 18 mm for the front then surely they must be vented
