  1. Anker, Good to have the New England Group on the C&L Seven site. Looking forward to the May 18 "Yankee" Fish N Chip Run! Also, you are definitely not old! Cheers, Vin
  2. I am in need of a sending unit for my 1979 Caterham Seven. The car was never assembled and there was no sender unit or tank with the parts. The tank is a new alum one for carbed cars from Caterham and the gauge is a new Carebont-Smith one. Any recommendation on what sender or what make model car one to look for is greatly appreciated. Vin
  3. Thanks guys for the inputs and links. I have the Weale book which is where I learned about the handbrake operation. I have reached out the several possible sources. What the handbrake handle came from seems to be the greatest mystery with Sevens. Will update with any info
  4. Need to put a Handbrake assembly in my 1979 RHD Seven. Looking for info on what car the handbrake lever and other bits for the set up came from? I know it is odd in that the sheath moves rather than the cable, and the lever has to be modified (i.e. Bent) for use under the Seven dash/cowl area. Any info advise greatly appreciated
  5. Update. Pulled the Crossflow engine yesterday to see why concentric clutch was leaking, first photo is what I found. Not sure what caused this? Would like to go to an external slave set up, to limit risk of having to pull engine, and my frame does not have the welded bracket for cable type (not that I would want a cable). Car is RHD 79 Seven. Current bell housing is Burton BH6 which is a cable set up one. Been all over various sites trying to find a Bellhousing with starter and external slave mount that will work with my car, engine, trans set up, but all found look like either the starter or external slave mount will interfere with the pedal box. Any inputs greatly appreciated!
  6. Hope all are doing well, Looking for set up advice for a concentric clutch in my Seven w/ a 4 sp Rocket box (23 spline) and Crossflow Engine. I currently have an APC 5 from Burton, with a .700 Girling master. The unit has leaked into the bellhousing. Inspection with Borescope shows no leaks at hoses / fittings. Spacing for throw out bearing to clutch fingers is spot on at 3mm. I suspect the throw of the pedal, hence the master actuator rod, is forcing too much fluid and has blown the seals in the APC 5. Pulling the engine this Friday to diagnose further. I think I need to figure out what the travel of the slave should be and limit the pedal/ actuator rod travel by a combination of trimming the rod and installing a pedal stop? Hoping someone has been down this road with this set up? V
  7. Hope all are well. Looking for one or a set of Cortina GT type 9" rear drums. Would need to post to USA. Best, V
  8. Hope all are doing well. Trying to figure out what Handbrake handle and set up is correct for my 1979 Caterham Seven with Ford axle. I know whatever handle it is has to be bent for use in a Seven, and have looked at a friends 62, which does not seem to match up with any Triumph drawings. Any inputs or sources greatly appreciated. V
  9. Thx, will check with them for future ref. The Capri 9" set up is coming together nicely. Reduced the track with significantly. I alo moved the Radius arm, shock mount weld brackets on the axle to the 12 O'clock position (where at 10). This moved the rear forward and brought the wheels closer to center relative to the wings. I believe the axle was previously set up for a four link, 5 link if you count the Panhard bar. V
  10. Yes, the handbrake levers, as well as the anchor plates are rare these days. Motomobile does not have a source for the levers either. I have pieced together a 9" system from various Capri's. I had to buy the whole rear from a car to get the brake & E-brake hardware. Using the 1.75' shoes and front brakes are GT-6, so hopefully, can bias to work well. Will check suggested club too, thx! Vin
  11. Did a disc conversion kit w/ Seira typ calipers. Had to use spacers to clear 13" rims. That plus the rotors made the rear 35mm wider, and caused clearance issue with the rear wings. The vintage race folks would require the drum set up, so I figure get two birds with one stone.
  12. Looking for any and all bits to put a 8' or 9" drum brake set up on an English Ford rear. Need everything including anchor plates. Any info on possible interchange other model sources greatly appreciated.
