  1. #13 I have a very similar one to that (not branded Sealey) but find the clamp that holds the pipe marks it quite badly. Does yours do that? I do not use it on my 3/16" copper pipe
  2. Hand Held Brake Pipe Flaring Tool | Car Builder - Kit & Classic Car Parts Specialist One of these would seem to be suitable. Looks very similar in function to the one I bought many years ago. I have got one of the type that does multiple pipe sizes as well where the pipe clamps between two bars but they mark the pipe quite badly where it is gripped. There are lots of dealers selling identical looking items for a variety of prices. Car builder will also have all the fittings and pipe you will need.
  3. A7 OOH said current standard M/C which is this one BRAKE MASTER CYL (STD BRAKE) - Caterham Parts Not sure if using flexibles will be easier, especially if you can make your own pipes.
  4. Yes, the t-piece can be anywhere that enables you to split the outlet from the M/C in to two pipes to the front brakes. The pipe is 3/16" and all the fittings will be imperial 3/8" UNF. The M/C connections are male as are the 3 T-piece connections. The pipe to the rear will need modifying in shape. What sort of brake light switch do you have. Mine is hydraulic so the first section of pipe to the rear is short. To avoid replacing long pipes you can always use straight connectors to connect a short piece of new pipe to the main run of a long pipe. Are all your pipes rust free? If any rust it will be best to renew the lot. The type of pipe flare (single or double) can be seen by looking at existing pipes or the shape of the seat in the fitting
  5. If you were closer I would offer to help you but the 250 miles is a bit far
  6. The new standard master cylinder has imperial connections. Are you planning to do this yourself and do you have access to a pipe flaring tool. For any new pipes copper is the easiest to work with.
  7. I think I would be up for a set. If you confirm availability I will PM you details
  8. Yes it is. Insert a T-piece somewhere near the front of the chassis where it is convenient to run pipes to both front calipers
  9. What is the applicable MOT Emissions test for a Seven? | Caterham and Lotus Seven Club (caterhamlotus7.club) There is this, not sure this is what you meant JK
  10. I got an O clip tool (cannot remember where from) and it must have been a reasonable price or I would not have bought it
  11. I will only add do not use jubilee clips on fuel hose. As said they do not stay round in the small sizes when tightened. If you don't want to use O clips then use proper petrol pipe clips that are closed by a small screw and nut. They do stay round. As for the foam strip there is a wide variety of adhesive neoprene strip available on that certain internet auction site
  12. Agree with what has been said above. I use Shell V power in my classic Mini and will be using it in the X flow when it is back together. There are 2 issues, both mentioned above. There is the ethanol issue mentioned by GulfSeven above and for that reason alone it is worth using Super Unleaded. There is also the pinking/pre-ignition issue and Super Unleaded will certainly help in this. This will be governed by things like compression ratio and ignition timing. Using super unleaded will allow you to get the ignition properly set up for performance rather than be set at a compromise to allow use of standard unleaded. From your other post you are obviously after performance from the car and to save a bit of money by buying cheaper fuel would be seem to go against this. Enjoy the car
  13. If Cat2017 has the master cylinder described by Tazio then they are no longer available. A new master cylinder will need the brake circuit piping modified. The original will have 3 outlets as described by Tazio, the new one will only have 2
  14. To all those who have contacted me asking for prices I have not forgotten. I have a lot going on at the moment and do not have much time to devote to research. If anyone has asked for the list and not received it please remind me. That is an easy one to do.
  15. There are things you can do without breaking the bank completly. Make sure you have a decent ignition system. Don't know what Caterham fitted but I have got Lumenition. Yes, see if there is a better camshaft available (don't know what Caterham fitted). Is it suitable for unleaded, don't know what Caterham did (mine is not a Caterham engine) if not you may want to consider getting the exhaust valve seats converted. Get it set up properly on a rolling road Even that lot will not be that cheap Finally regarding the axle I suppose that depends how you intend to drive it. Round the track hopping curbs it may not survive but normal fast road driving may be OK I have a Ford axle but I understand it was the Ital axle that permitted Caterham to make the long cockpit. If you have one of those I do not know if a Ford axle is possible
  16. Yes, his problem is plugs sooting up
  17. Watched an episode of Secrets of the Transport Museum the other night and Allen Millyard was on as he was going to demonstrate The Flying Millyard bike (5 litre V twin) and the plugs needed cleaning. He held them in a vice and heated the business end to red heat with a blowlamp. He recons never wire brush or blast. Interesting I have never thought of doing that. Beware do not let them drop in water, they just explode
  18. OK bexxxhill, drop me a PM with email address and I will send list. I think you are 4 in the queue
  19. I am attempting to sell the lot in one go. I realise I could probably sell quite a few individually or in small lots but then I would probably be left with a lot nobody wants.
  20. Yes, you would need 240 mm of tread width for 30 mm bald to be OK. The requirement is for central 3/4 to be legal (above 1.6 mm)

    Vinyl LPs

I am looking to sell all my vinyl collection (I know they are back in favour but I do not have the space to make use of them). I am only really interested in selling as one lot so do not necessarily expect someone on here to buy - there are 201 of them. What I am after are any recommendations for good dealers who may be interested. If anyone is actually interested PM me an email address I will send you a list. Quite varied but mainly classic rock.
  22. All of that is so familiar to me. Still got all my pens and instruments as well
