Whats the general concencus when choosing new door mirrors to fit on "Eccles" style mounts ?

Carbon ....That may Discolour / Chip ?  As out in the Breeze .

Carbon look ? Motamec etc

Black Plastic High Impact Nylon(Demon Tweeks)

Lower (Base) ball joint Clamp bolt  ?  On side (more accessible , but ugly) or underneath , not so accessible ?

Already decided , Convex is way to go

Thinking perhaps ....Start with D.Tweeks High Impact Nylon (black plastic) £42 each ?

Large carbon effect convex mirrors from Car Builder Solutions. Pics follow. Proper friction ball head adjustment on a very sturdy arm.

Reply to #7:   Yes they do - the Motamec is a shameless and excellent copy of the Spa, but even better thanks to the addition of the 'non-slip' screw. Much cheaper too!

#6 they look good, when my current SPA mirros give up (which they are on the way to doing) that seems like a good choice.

Any thougths on a centre mirror? I've got an SPA centre mirror mounted on the cage at the moment but the tightening screw has given up so it won't say in position any more. Lots of suggestion to use the Longacre mirror instead.

Re #12

Chris - I've used Motamecs on all three of my Sevens over the years, either black or carbon 'effect'.  But go for real carbon ones, if you can.  They're currently available new on eBay for around £100 a pair I think.

*rofl* John… "They are mounted to your side-screens at 3 points, not 2. That’s 150% better!"*

(I'm not about to debate the maths in that claim, it just made me chuckle, that is all)

I've the Car Builder Solutions mirrors (see #4) on the stanchions of my windbreak and real carbon Motomec mirrors (see #6) on the aeroscreen.

Both significantly better and easier to adjust than Spa mirrors.
