Guest
I can't see that this has been covered before (although no doubt wrong!) My Supersport has a windscreen and heater. I know this is not the thing to do, extra weight etc, but, boy, that heater is worth every pennythis time of the year. Apart, this is, from my rear areas. My back and bottom get seriously cold after relatively short trips because of the thin seats. I know you can buy seat inserts but my Tillets fit me perfectly and I don't know if inserts would change this. I've thought about cardboard, space blankets or similar as an interim solution but any other advice would be gratefully received.
Roadsport06
For not much you can buy a heated seat to keep your bum warm in the cold weather, you just need a 12 socket to plug into.
DJ.
I find this problem is caused by a draught coming down the back of the seat. In cold weather, I have wedged a fleece between the seat back and bulkhead and it has improved the situation. Duncan
6speedmanual
A sheepskin makes an excellent well insulated liner. Extensively tested and well proven over thousands of cold and wet Scotblat miles. There's a 7er (or ex 7er) who can supply them. Tony Whitley
I find a folded scarf under my bum is all I need. Seen me through about 10 winters.
6speedmanual
Also lined winter walking/trekking trousies very good. Craghoppers or another brand 3x as expensive (can't remember the name) are excellent cold weather blatting gear. Peter

Birkin S3 ZA.
I have never experienced that yet 😬 my Tillet seats have the pads fitted and are not vary thick about 6mm I would say. Warning don't get them wet as they make a exhalent sponge and can retain lots of water

Mostro
I found the coldness an issue even in relatively mild weather so I splashed out on a pair of Oxted/ Thundersport tillett inserts They certainly do the job - not noticed any cold since - and I think they add a touch of class to the interior too. Well recommended (L7C discount too). Edited by - Mostro on 5 Dec 2013 13:10:
Dickie Normuss
My Tillets are covered completely in that carpet like material that's usually only on a few areas. I haven't seen another set like it but they've been transformed from heat sinks to insulation. Used in all temps and never get cold.
Guest
Update: - I bought a foam sleeping mat (used by campers) from Go Outdoors for £4.99. It's made out of high density foam 9mm thick and I cut a section to fit. Problem solved! Ok, it's not pretty but much cheaper than proper inserts and very comfortable. Thanks for all the suggestions though. Maybe I'll treat the car after Xmas!
