    The increased fuel consumption is probably the sensor not working. The throttles need balancing properly and the throttle pot resetting. Some 150s have badly matched throttle bodies and are almost impossible to balance properly. Take the air filter off and have a look at WOT are they both fully open?

    150s seem to suffer from lambda failure, I suspect fuel mixture is wrong. Does it `pop and bang` a lot?

    Isn`t that what we used to do with steam engines about 100 years ago.....They`ll be injecting water into the cylinders soon no doubt......Ah what goes around comes around ! Happy new year etc

    I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the bell housing to show any leaks and I have seen leaky cam covers...this will have been removed and refitted when the cams were upgraded..the rubber seal could be nicked or misaligned

    Beware!!! Not easy to fit a new crank pulley as it is not keyed and it holds the cam timing in place...big risk of moving timing!also crank bolt is `mega` tight as it is only friction that drives the cams,pumps, alternator etc.

    Did you ever find out what caused the rattle?

    Check the polarity + - is correct before plugging in. I use a Halfords socket...ok for the last 10 years

    I presume the bottom alternator bolt is in and tight (it`s out of sight below) tensioner pulley is suspect but not noisy...had to make an aluminium replacement several years ago

    Describe the rattle in detail! e.g. rattle, bang, buzz, constant, intermittent, all speeds, metalic, tinny, thumpy, loud, soft, high / low frequency, front or rear or top or bottom of engine etc., etc.. It`ll give you something to do in the wet and windy, dark, north !

    Has anyone ever had a flexible hose fail on a Caterham (other than damaged one)?

    I used a hot air / paint stripper gun to bend the perspex but you need to take care not to overheat the perspex hinges are blocks of ali. with brass pins. Mirrors are motor scooter. and can be turned in if necessary

    NS2r is not an `ultimate grip` tyre on a 7, it`s designed for saloon cars and is quite `drifty` on a 7....quite fun really!

    TPS is VERY sensitive to position at closed throttle and is difficult to get right. The `dithering` seems a bit much but they all do it to some extent. Check all relative loom connections Throttle should run 0-15 on the sites and go fro 0 to 1 as soon as throttle moves All you can do is adjust by VERY small amounts until you find what works.....It`s not far away DO NOT over tighten the 2 screws holding the TPS as this can cause the throttle to stick wide open!! Check rubber pipe to manifold pressure sensor for leaks/splits This type of TPS is generally reliable....how many miles has it done?

    As a matter of interest....Have you measured the bearing stand ups in the rod and cap. The bearings should be an interference fit when the bolts are tight and not have to rely on the tags....(they are more of a positioning device))

    I filed 2 flats on the plug boss and use a spanner (whack it with a hammer first!)
