  1. What vintage? The later ones are teflon lined.
  2. Only 2....think yourself lucky....or you are not looking hard enough! Mine had loads of spare wires because the loom was used for many different configurations and was a`fit all types` loom. I just lashed them away out of sight!
  3. Did I say `take some tywraps` ...they don`t like flappy cables 👨‍🦼
  4. I presume `no doors and mirrors on the screenframe` still applies for IVA.
  5. Well, I`ll be dead soon and won`t have to put up with all this modern c..p!
  6. Anyone see the `new` Dambusters movie where the dog is now `Trigger or Digger` ....OK in fiction but not in history! I presume you have oil in the box!
  7. As a matter of interest, what cam timing is the engine set to?
  8. I fitted the front bolts then sat it on a jack.....lined up the top holes as best they would and ran a half inch drill through the top bushes and diff casing......All fine for 50K miles. Maybe if you force the bolt through then you will preload the bushes and transmit more noise....just a thought
  9. Yes, in garage.....make me an offer!
  10. Caerbont certainly used to do fixes if you contact them direct.
  11. When you say `play in the output shaft bearing` is it the bearing or the shaft (spline) that moves and which side (drivers or passenger)? I ask as the crown wheel meshing is determined by the preload in these bearings and you need to tighten the correct side (if you do) The drive shafts usually have some play in the spline so waggling the shaft may not be bearing play. Just saying
  12. Unless someone has changed it, Sigmas have electronic gauges.....they may look mechanical but aint!
  13. Don`t take too much, you need to leave room for the wine!
  14. What tyres and pressures are you using?
  15. In my case (De Dion) it is the nearside driveshaft, inner CV joint ....needs a rebuild soon. Clunk click every trip!
  16. Green and ali, early crossflow S3 Q100 - - - in car park at Dieppe. Coming back from Le Mans I presume.
  17. As I said earlier, I did all the carpet oil and C/W adjustments to good effect but also I ran a long 1/2 " drill through the top diff mountings because they are 2-3mm out of line when new. Many new builds hammer the top bolt through which preloads the rubber bushes.....just saying! 50mph whine I think is a resonance in the prop shaft....I`m considering shrink wrapping it!
  18. Does the tapping change between cold and hot engine? Is tapping the same as you rev it up? Is it a tap or a clunk?
  19. As a matter of interest, where/why did it crack?
  20. you could `go the whole hog` and take the link off one side ....might prove something
  21. A stiff rear bar will take weight off the inside wheel and reduce traction in tight corners
  22. I don`t suppose you have a rear anti-roll bar fitted If yes, is it too stiff?
