  1. Did you sort your oil problem, not that its the weather for blatting!
  2. As I said, depends on who did it but probably yes. Could be a huge overspill when filling up oil Sigma requires front crank pulley removal if belt covers are fitted, which can lose cam timing and require removal of cover to re-time cams 125, 140/150 have different cams, belt tensioner and timing If there are no other leaks, especially around exhaust, clean it out, check oil level and try another blat
  3. Depends on who did it. 125 or 150? Can be done without cover off iff pulleys marked up at t.d.c. Slots at back of cams set timing but not as standard ford, beware of standard settings - setting bar. inlet cam is retarded several degrees. Cover probably removed to set cams, may not be tightened down properly There is a rubber seal around cam cover to head joint but it also requires sealing compound around front cam bearing caps. Cover requires screwing down properly with small torque wrench.
  4. There`s one under my bench in Rugby if you are stuck.

    Petrol !

The octane number (RON) 95 - 98 is a measure of the fuel`s anti detonation properties. This is mostly the flame propagation speed across the combustion chamber at a particular compression ratio. The higher the number the lower the propagation speed /.risk of detonation/ knock Higher numbers require more ignition advance and /or higher compression ratio to work best. Back in the old days in F1 going from 4 star to 5 star(higher octane) without any engine changes LOST 10 bhp ! As the man said...set the engine up for what you are going to use, 95 is safe
  8. Not sure about your diagnosis (fast idle?) but just for info. Ford coil packs have been known to fail because the standard Ford plug gaps are set at 1.3mm. This gap is for low speed - lean burn engines which a Caterham Sigma is not. It takes a lot of volts to `jump the gap` and at high revs this tends to overload the coils. I use 0.9 - 1mm plug gaps and I think that Ford reduced the gap to 1.1mm to get over the problem but seem to be back to 1.3mm now, maybe the later coils packs are better Tom
  9. Blue with chips and drips!......and orange half hood. Still available if you need help.
