  1. Morning, the first switch I got was off eBay from Leacy Classics and that was in bits on removal from the bag. The second one I got and fitted was from SVC, needless to say, more expensive but a proper job at £25. I'd check with SVC the motor part number against the switch mentioned below to double check it's the same as mine. SVC Park switch link There is a gripping 35 minute video on Youtube regarding wiper motor problems. Hope that helps.
  2. I bought two park switches, the first was really poor quality and fell to pieces before I fitted it. The other was first class and solved my problem. I wasn't until I got the second one that I realised how different they were. When I'm back off holiday I'll look out where I got the good one from. I contacted a Landrover dealer at one point and they wouldn't sell me the switch unless I gave them a Landrover registration.
  3. Another seconder for the Uniroyal Rainsports/Rainexperts. Have used them for years on my 2009 Roadsport SV in mixed Scottish weather. Done lots of multi-day touring where normally one day is going to be wet. Definitely a life saver when there's lots of standing water, not slow in the dry either. I don't track the car so not seeking ultimate grip.
  4. I'd second that Paul, vastly more responsive engine when changing gear. Particularly good on Scottish roads up here, never in the same gear for very long. Makes the current five speed feel more like my old six speed car. Well worth it indeed.
  5. Hi, I've had this a couple of times with my Sigma after a winter lay up. The earth bolt in the centre of the picture gets corroded in the chassis resulting in nothing happening, turning over but not firing. There are four or five cables earthing to it. A couple of times a year I take it out, clean the bolt and the terminals, Copperslip and jobs a good un. Hopefully that might help.
  6. The one in the boot I found was under the tunnel cover about 600mm behind the gearstick tie wrapped to the chassis. 2009 SV.
  7. As above, mine was a 2009 150 SV and is now a Premier Power F175 with the super light flywheel and clutch. Completely transformed the car. Ditto the clutch issue but a different master cylinder supplied by PP sorted that.
  8. Hi, started from a different position I.e. 150 SV Roadsport. Not fast enough for touring two up particularly overtaking. Went with Premier Power F175 conversion with a super light flywheel. The combination made a huge difference. I've always thought 200 bhp is the right number for touring two up. The torque and the power you have might not need the lightest of flywheels unless you are up and down the box all the time doing quick overtakes. It does have a down side of making driving through a town in slow traffic a bit more of a challenge, a different master cylinder can improve this. Living in Scotland where we do, "traffic" is something we have to look up in the dictionary. Recommend you drive someone's car with a super light flywheel first. Very pleased with mine overall.
  9. That's good to hear.....in that case I suspect my shocks will be stopped at Nottingham for a steam clean before they get anywhere near Leicester!
  10. Bit the bullet and sent them off to Bilstein, £92.50 + VAT for the standard service. Two week turnaround if painting is asked for...which I have.
  11. Morning all, any handy tips and tricks for replacement and refitting of the bushes please? 2009 SV with 65,000 miles on the clock. Took the shocks out yesterday to repaint the A frames etc and the rubbers were pretty distorted. Is this the correct bush: - Bush
  12. Hi, I've got a 2009 Sigma and had a few electrical shutdowns. Suggest remove and clean the earth connections to the chassis by the battery. Same for the connections from alternator, starter motor to the battery. Disconnect multi-way connectors harness to engine, spray with Electroclean or similar, put back together with Electrolube or similar. Hope that helps.
  13. Hi, has anyone got a spare water temperature gauge they don't want please? The body of mine is split I found when I tried to change the O ring. Caerbont Automotive ECT1 - 1252 - 69B 71251
  14. Morning, did you look at this post I did for my 2009 Sigma /forum/techtalk/dead-power-socket-rear-harness-2009-sigma?page=1 It shows the factory fitted connector just behind the handbrake in the transmission tunnel.
