I know a lot of people leave these bolts off as they are so close to the top shock mount that they contact each other when the shocks are working hard due to movement in the rubber mounts. I had a harsh metalic knock on my car when going over rough roads and it proved to be this with a definate "witness" mark evident on both shock and bolt - noise disappeared on removing bolts but I do have some reservations about not having bolts in place. Interestingly though my new car is factory built and doesn't have the bolts fitted !!
What's the general view on the significance to the structural strength of the bar that these bolts contribute?
Nemesis,
Are you looking for bids or is this a "first come first refusal"?
I'm happy to put in a bid but obviously don't want to tread on anyones toes who may be in line before me!
Steve
Richard,
Thanks - I'd be interested to know your thoughts when fitted as I'm thinking of going down the same route.
David - what did you replace to get the quoted gains, just manifold or the complete system?
Steve
Richard,
Is this increase just by replacing the manifold (4 into 1 @ 2.5" diameter I assume)and keeping the standard cat silencer or did you replace the complete system?
Steve
