  1. The Emerald lead is not a standard lead the manual says. Just make one, from the instructions in the manual on the website. Couple of 9 pin D plugs and 4 wires.
  2. Thats good they found the issue for you. Bad if they have a batch like it though. Does it mean they are a bit too light weight for their own good and will buckle if they go through a pot hole or is just a manufacturing defect of a few wheels?
  3. If they were noticed buckled from the undamaged box I would think it's a cut a dry return. If they have had tyres fitted I would expect a blame train as no-one will have done it!
  4. You cant powder coat with the bushes fitted as the heat used (if done properly) will damage them. As an alternative you could get them bead blasted and then use an air dry epoxy paint.
  5. Don't think you can remove it, if its the 5AS immobiliser you are talking about.
  6. They were advertised as Caterham 7 seats. I can't see that no confirmation was made that they were wide or not is grounds for return. They may not know they are different.
  7. I would say why do it? Its not got a crappy cat in there like the 175 EU5 cars, it has virtually no back pressure with the valve open as it is. If he wants to waste money then fine but its not going to gain much if anything power wise (except for the extra X hp that anyone trying to sell you something will claim).
  8. It's the same as all cars were pre 2001 when the co2 rules started. IVA cars still work to this old standard.
  9. Theres another one, bare ally and green grp, allegedly brand new, on there now at £2500. Looks quite nice as a project car, allbeit a fairly old one, but is the no chassis number likely or have they just mislaid the plate and the number is stamped on somewhere?
  10. Hi Darren, His website is attree-autos.com. He posts on here as mic. The dry sump tank he had made is under the parts tab. Cheers, Simon
  11. I doubt either will do a special of that design but I think Mick Attree through his company did the original it is based on. Maybe worth sending him a message.
  12. It's on the rear axle, right side I think? Same as all the current de-dion cars anyway. Same sensor as well.
  13. Put a scan tool on to see the engine code. Should point you in the right direction if it's a real fault.
  14. No particular reason it shouldnt if you have a decent cat and ecu that can run closed loop fuelling. Its only an MOT level emissions check after all.
  15. The black box is a water trap.
  16. I have seen once when someone left the small idler off that goes under the redundant front engine mount. It holds the belt away from it and in doing so will take up some of the length. Could it be that this has fallen off and so is making the belt look longer than it is? You can make it out in the pic below. Edited to add pic. Thanks to Mikes Caterham Build Blog for the pic

    Lamda Probes

Terminology all back to front but yes just stick a new one in first. If that doesn't work then check the wiring to the ecu and the lambda heater.
  18. 2007ish Mondeo is about right for the long engine its based on.
  19. The round switch dash I have seen on an R400 had momentary switches for the indicators on the dash. With a complicated relay PCB behind it all I seem to recall.
  20. Mark, The lambda is not wide band, its just a normal switching sensor. The ECU is locked down and the only data available is that the is down the OBD port. Its not going to be quick enough for logging but does work with most scan tools. I saw, on your blog I think, you asked about some OBD stuff, cat mon and o2 readiness? Anyway they are not enabled as its not required for the level of approval the 7 is at in Europe. There is no rear o2 so cat mon is not possible for example. As far as the immobiliser goes, intermitantly I would say! I think there should be enough info on the diagrams you have to work out the ECU pin out if you cant find one. As I say it wont be exactly the same as a Lotus but close. As to why it didnt do this and does now I really dont know. Wiring would still be my first guess.
  21. Sorry, but no. Didnt spot the link.
  22. Mark, For info really, The Euro8 ecu does look the same and has the same plugs but it is not the same. It is a full race ecu. The T6 doesnt have the same wide band lambda or twin ETB controllers. The T6 is a unique ecu to Lotus, if you need to find a pin-out all I can suggest is you look in the direction of the Evora, that will be as close as you will find in the public domain. Unless you are very unlucky I doubt the ecu is at fault, it is most likely to be a bad connection or earth somewhere. The ecu doesnt take any signal from the immobiliser.
  23. The T6 ECU can cope with down to about 5.5v so that shouldnt affect it. I would suggest immobiliser, either connections or just not off properly.
  24. That dash looks to be a 485 dash, they get the sport button. Cant say for definite any ideas as to why it has the intermitent 'non starting' but I cant remember if the immobiliser does the fuel pump or not. I'm fairly sure it only cuts supply to the coil and injectors If it is only random and if you get a pump prime but wont fire then I would think about checking the power feed connections to the coil and injectors at the engine to chassis loom. Also if you dont have one get the LED fitted as it may just be the immobiliser is being a sod to turn off. They do take a fairly long crank to start as well so dont expect it to just be a stab of the starter and it goes. There is one good thing, being EU5 the ECU has diagnostics enabled so you can check with a scan tool if is running ok and for any fault codes.
  25. I take it you have the EU5 French version of the car with electric throttle and the 'Lotus' ECU? The whine, if you do, is the throttle. If so dont pay too much attention to any MBE wiring directions as they are fairly different. Is the dash the same as the superlight with the rows of rounds switches? If you do then the start position of the key starter isnt connected to anything at all but you do have to put the key into position 2 before anything will work. Ignition and start are then all off the start button. The Aces lights sound like they have been left at half max revs (7200rpm) for setting up and never changed. The left light is for a shift down indicator, never really used I understand. If you have a UK car on MBE then probably ignore all this as I havent had a proper look at those.
