  1. The 125 engine has standard Ford cams retimed to get somewhere near to the 125 figure. The engine makes about 105hp with the Ford cam timing. The 140 has aftermarket cams so there is no Ford data for them.
  2. Chances are they were made by Tillet as thats where a lot of the 'carbon' parts come from.
  3. Although the diffs are similar this one is from a little van called an Every. Just in case you are going to go trawling for LSD's or any other parts. Jimny wont fit.
  4. Having had a look at the forms it may not be possible with an amateur built vehicle. Worth an ask though to possibly save some cash.
  5. As the car in the UK is IVA I think it defaults to the under 1549cc tax rate. The only cars to use the CO2 figures are the factory built EU cars. I think there is a dodge for when you fill in the IVA forms if you know all the type approval values for CO2, fuel economy etc for a car that is type approved in Europe. That way you may get the £30 tax but I very much doubt if you get Dartford to IVA the car they will do it. Possibly can get it if you self IVA but you then need official data from the manufacturer which they probably wont give you.....
  6. What you have found sounds about right. The 160 engine sits with a RHS bias in the engine bay so the gearbox does get close/touch the heatshield. The prop runs in a slight diagonal across the tunnel to allow everything in there to miss with its travel. Simon
  7. Jack, I think it is this dowel here that Dave is telling you is missing. Cheers, Simon
  8. Lloyd, Can you send me some pics of the rims please. I'll send you my email. Cheers, Simon
  9. Dave, I'm pretty sure I have a spare sensor around somewhere. Let me have a dig about and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Simon
  10. Dave, Have you heard of these, secret audio. They have a slimline head unit you can fit in the glovebox with all the gubbins elsewhere, in the boot etc. Its a USA spec kit so doesnt have the full FM range, misses the even numbers I think. Looks like it has an IPOD input as well. Simon
  11. Dave, I've found the info I mentioned to you on the phone the other day. In a Caterham 21 newsletter, from summer '96, it says the wiper motor is from a FIAT. No model or anything unfortunately. Maybe a Panda or Uno?
  12. Pics on the way to you. Took the handle out as it was easier than breaking my back getting a picture in situ.
  13. Can do. Want me to mail you one?
  14. Dave, I think they may be early Metro/Maestro handles. Simon
  15. Yes, sorry. They are standard 14mm o-rings.
  16. Dont know if these are of any use to anyone. Set of 4 new grey injectors from a Vauxhall 2.0 turbo, standard Bosch fitting. 315 cc/min @ 3 bar fuel pressure. 14.5 ohm resistance. Bosch part number 0 280 156 021 taken from the injector. £50 + post
  17. 2nd dibs please if AJ doesnt have them. Simon
  18. They are not the same. EU3 has a moulded plug for the small wire and EU2 is an eyelet.
  19. I have an EU3 compatible ECU I can send out to you if you want to try it. Its not a Rover one so it wont care about the 5AS immobiliser. Its really for a non VVC 1.8 Elise but should work with the Caterham wiring if I have worked it out right and be close enough for you to try and run the 1.6 engine. If it doesnt work then throw it away or send it to Norm if he wants it as a spare for his Elise. Blatmail me if you want it sent out. Other than that on your other post it sounds like the TMAP is faulty, or the wiring to it. I have a spare TMAP and may have a wiring loom kicking around for it. Its a pig to change though as its also the coil and injector loom. Simon
  20. Tony, YHM regarding the dry sump system. Cheers, Simon
  21. If they are the Exige type dont do that as they have tiny bearing races at each end of the shaft. Strip them down and regrease the bearings. The rest will be ok in a bath of nrake cleaner. The springs are great fun to refit!!
  22. The small light switches are pretty much the same as these here with LED's. They are momentary with a box of latching relays elsewhere in the car. The illuminations for the symbols is by some small circuit boards behind them. The LED lights up when it is on. The heater is a 3 position rotary with individual wires to the blower. The resistors to give the speeds are on the blower so it is the same as the 21/7 type in that respect. If you are in no rush I may be able to locate some of the parts for you.
