  3. The gearbox you get from CC has a small residual quantity of oil in it. The advice to loosten the filler plug before you instal the box is because it isn't the easiest little bu&&er to get at with the gearbox in the car and it would be a pain to have to take the box out again because you couldn't unscrew the plug. Wait until the car is on its wheels and top-up the box with oil SLOWLY through the filler plug on the side until it starts to overflow.   4. Depends where the temperature is sensed. The guys at Think Automotive recommend sensing the sump temperature - but other opinion differ - no surprise there then. I've seen 100 mentioned before - in the context that this temperature gets the moisture out of the oil. Normal running on the road at operating temp I see 80, but on track it's gone as high as 115.   6. Sorry to hear about this Angus, but as you say, it could have been a lot worse. When I had my K-Series I fitted studs to the TB's with a nylock nuts on the back of the TB's and then secured the trumpets with nylock nuts - bit overkill, but reasonably secure BRG Brooklands SV 😬 It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.   8. I've got mine set-up with 80mm under the sump and the 15mm rake and it seems to go round corners OK.   9. I can see where you're coming from Julian, but find that 230bhp and 175lb ft I have now, compared to the 150bhp K-Series I had before is far better even on the road. Sure it's possible to get carried away if you allow yourself to, but I don't find any problem with feeding-in the throttle as appropriate - I guess it comes down to driving style. Having the reserve there when required is very useful, but I find I can overtake using whatever throttle is necessary rather than trying to rip the tread off the tyres on every occasion. If, within reason, money's not the issue, IMHO the Duratec would be the route to follow. here's a pic of my intallation. here's some general Duratec info. and don't worry about the doom and gloom brigade going-on about excessive footwell temperatures. aftermarket Duratec's in Caterhams are more common nowadays and thanks to the pioneers, is now a pretty straightforward installation job. Statements like 130bhp is enough are facile. You might get some benefit from modifying the throttle return spring(s) as highlighted here and/or the throttle operating mechanism - Jenvey do some very nice ones that allow adjustment of the gearing between pedal movement and throttle movement pictured here and here BRG Brooklands SV 😬 It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.   15. I've found the VacuBleed to be very good when having to bleed the brakes solo.
