    I guess if you want some calipers and call ap they are bound to use something from an existing design as the basis. Small vehicle manufactures can’t generally afford to pay for all the design, toiling, testing etc so they agree the part manufacturer can sell the part changed slightly and usually not for the same vehicle. The canley ones are going to end up looking like caterham ones by the fact they are all based around triumph mounting and hub designs at some point in the past. If you look at the current caterham ally 2 pots they look pretty much identical to lotus Elise front 2 pots. There will be differences but the base casting is probably the same

    Caterham vented discs are sourced from a caterham I’m afraid. It’s their ones or the ones you have. Canley used to sell discs separately but caterham forced them to stop. Must mean they are the same discs and caterham didn’t want to be undercut. Jwm probably are the same too. I imagine the calipers are also ap without caterham branding.
  5. What does it look like? Is it the small oblong flat ones? Post a picture up The first place to check would probably be redline components for a part from that era
  6. Yes, saw your post just after I’d posted. Was told at the time they used the ford diff as it was stronger. Maybe that wasn’t the reason Sounds like your plan is the right move though
  7. 620r has a ford diff. I would expect the s to as well. That is unless they have changed the spec recently
  8. @ revilla. Kind of a tangent on this but have you located the ecu connecter plug terminals? I want to replace a bit of my wiring as it’s had it and need some terminals from somewhere
  9. A better car is the Elise SC with the 2zz supercharged. More fun and revs better. The 220 2zr was pegged at 220 for a very good reason found in development, it could get close to the 250 ish they claim now. The later management decided to ignore the issue and hope it doesn’t happen on the road. It is only apparent at sustained high revs, wot and that’s not achievable for long periods on the road. Remember that it’s a road car not a track car.
  10. MIL, check engine light etc. Not sure if they had that fitted back then as they do with the current eu spec cars. It shouldn’t actually do anything if it detected the cat has failed, just flag a fault code from memory
  11. I’d hazard a guess he has a eu3 K series in Europe which carried over the catalyst monitor diagnostics from the rover donor. It will put on a MIL if it doesn’t see the cat. Mind you generally after a short time cars do with 200 cell cats as well as they aren’t very efficient
  12. Quite a bit is carried over. You will need an ecu that does alpha/n fuel and spark so emerald is easier as it plugs straight in to a eu2 loom. Iac isn’t used with one of them. I think the fuel rail can be reused. Injectors can also be used. Alastair Westle has just fitted qed jenveys to his car so would be a good person to ask
  13. The new cars have to have proper iso symbols now. The days of the little round unmarked lamps are gone
  14. It will be an mbe ecu rather than the lotus one that does support obd. You will have to get hold of the correct comms lead for an mbe and connect and see yourself. Last time I looked an mbe didn’t actually operate the mil and some cars get a back feed to the light so it glows slightly when it’s actually doing nothing. This may have changed since 2015 mind you. I’d see what the selling dealer says
  15. Which ecu do you have? If cable throttle it’s not going to communicate with a scan tool. If electric throttle it will.
  16. There isn’t a replaceable one. It’s part of the pump/level sender module
  17. I have a feeling it’s based on a ford part so might be worth looking at late 50’s fords
  18. If you were thinking of spending that much I would suggest looking at the qed badged jenvey bodies. They are cheaper than those ones went for
  19. There is a sock filter on the pump. The fuel sloshing over it should keep it clear, it’s not like a pressure fed one obviously so should be ok. No harm in looking though
  20. Turbo technics used to do one for the k series in Elise. The rotrex site only lists Komo-tec as selling them now though
  21. Tracsport do a diff for ford as well. Supposed to be pretty good. The Titan ones wear badly I have read
  22. There’s a chap selling a pair of s4 side screens and hood frame on eBay at the moment
  23. Unless they have proper jets like the ones in the picture that shut off at lower pressures I wouldn’t want to use it. Does the turbo k block have them? Maybe that’s what it was originally. A home brew bodge doesn’t sound good at all though
