  1. Or did the place they took it happen to have a warm ticking over fiesta nearby and frigged the test?
  2. For what engine? K series? No sealant is required on the gasket. If you leave the gasket out then any rtv sump sealant should suffice
  3. Yes the term is often known as a 'caterham owner'
  4. Caterham investigated irs on the s3 many years ago and discounted it then. There was a development chassis on the rack when I was there in 2012. It's too expensive to implement, the gains minimal on an S3, CSR was just an SV with irs and inboard front dampers, and they wouldn't be able to recover the costs of it as a standalone S3 model. I'm not getting into the why's and wherefores of an aftermarket conversion as that is a completely different thing. The aftermarket doesn't have to worry about everything that a OE manufacturer does.
  5. Is it the exact same part number? If it is then it should work as normal as nothing, apart from sometimes the arm, is changed from the standard Ford part. I'd be concerned if its a different part number unit and not use it. If its exactly the same part number then its a bit odd.
  6. Is yours currently steel? It should be repairable if it is. Redline might do an ally sump I guess.
  7. Fair enough. Just the 20% for the tax man then
  8. That looks like a nice car but not that cheap once vat and import duties are paid. Otherwise I'd be sending a message to him I think
  9. #8 The ford spigot bearing is 15mm id. Hence my 15mm bit of copper pipe and tape.
  10. A bit of 15mm copper plumbing pipe and enough turns of masking tape to be snug in the friction plate has done me well for a long time.
  11. The ecu doesn't support ordinary diagnostic tools. You need to get an mbe can link and the easimap program on a laptop, or find someone who has it as the link is expensive for a one off job, and see what the readings are when the fan comes on. This is for a uk cable throttle car. Eu cars, and I think the 1600 on the jenvey throttle body carb replicas, are on a different system that does support diagnostic tools.
  12. I would use something like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403368723474
  13. How much are you after? Can't see a price at all?
  14. It's a non eu compliant uk iva spec car. The cars available in Switzerland are either eu current cars or 30 year old ones at a large amount of money
  15. A mat that slides over itself? Seems a reasonable thing. Would be better than the big bit of cardboard I use to slide on under a car.
  16. #8 yeah I think it looks like a good idea. Especially if those washers wear regularly and it needs pulling apart for repair.
  17. That's very neat. I guess it might transmit a bit more harshness into things but would anyone notice it over everything else? Should make it nice and smooth in use
  18. Alan, Just had a look at the position of the clevis on the chassis. Mine is a good 20mm further outboard to yours. The diagonal sits how you had yours in the picture with it outside the clevis. That explains why mine fits. It's a 2001 superlight chassis if that makes any difference. I guess they fitted your mount in a different position for whatever reason they did.
  19. Yes its a removable diagonal. Basically the same spec as you are trying to fit up. Cant really see why yours wont clear, I may have pushed my engine as far to the right as possible is all that I can suggest. Its been a long while since I did it.
  20. Mine has no indent in that area and the water rail looks pretty much the same. There is a little bit of clearance. Not much but enough that it doesn't hit. No washers under that side of the engine.
  21. Ok Dave I'll have them at £100 if thats ok with you? It's kind of what I thought used cams are worth. Unless you are letting them run on the eBay? I think the vhpd cams are probably a bit too much for a small valve ported head as I have currently, will have multi throttles eventually but not as yet. I'll have to buy shims from you to convert my followers as well.
