I got a specific vvc one from arch so the vvc type plenum would fit under the bonnet so such a thing exists. Albeit at a price. Turned out the one I had was almost the same anyway and I still had to trim and adjust to get everything to miss everything else
Not sure if this was aimed at me but this is what I was told. It was done for aesthetics primarily, keep both sides looking the same as that was what was wanted. I think they did try to use it to duct cooling air into the pedal box but it wasn’t very successful. That’s the story I was given by someone from the factory so I see no reason to disbelieve it.
No one seems to make proper badges anymore. Lotus enamel are available but they are knocking on for £100 now. You’ll be doing well for a nos much less than the £80 that one is up for if it’s the one I’m thinking of. He was open to offers
Interested in the 711 block if 1600. I’ll pm you my email if you can send over a picture or two please. Let me know what sort of price you were thinking Cheers Simon
Could try the graduates website. Not that I can get it to work today lol. They have good priced sigma cars on there usually. If you don’t mind doing a bit of tidying that is
That particular naca duct was purely done for the intake to the airbox for the 485. It’s no worse than the teardrop vent but we needed a bigger hole that was in a different place to fit it all in. It’s surface mounted because they didn’t want a raw metal edge showing
Got to laugh at the ‘normal’ descriptions. No warning lights on the dash? Lol. There’s plenty of tread as the tyres have only done 500 odd miles since they were fitted, in 2008. That alone is enough to give some people on here palpitations!
I can’t say I’d be able to tell if it would be suitable or not from a picture. Is there a part number on the kit if it’s still bagged? The rover one is BS03K according to caterham site. They have several different ones based on each engine type. Probably cable lengths mainly but I don’t know
Don’t know what more you can do but I’d be a bit concerned about sand getting into the pump. Can’t remember if there’s a filter at the tank outlet I downloaded the manual as a pdf ages ago. Just screenshoted the oil flow page
The dry sump, caterham type anyway, has the feed into the side as you know then a dowel type arrangement goes between the pan and into where the pick up does normally. Then it’s flow is just as a normal k
Should be an interference fit. Probably heated and then slid on when the joint is made. Have heard of them coming loose before. Might be able to push it back into place and with some decent loctite get it to stay put
