Generally the only thing that makes a cat really overheat in use is a chronic misfire and unburnt fuel getting to it. Plug lead coming loose or coil failure often the cause.
I would try to get the front mounted tank that most people used with the system. The bell tank only has one inlet, pace pump has twin scavange outlets. It doesn’t hold an awful lot of oil either. You could join the pipes but I would use the front mount tank, unless you already have a bell tank then I can see the appeal
A 485 engine, compared to a 420 engine, has high compression pistons, more aggressive cams, ported head, roller barrel throttles and 8500 rev limit to get to the power plus the usual bits to help it stay together.
The basic vhpd engine (slr type) would have come from PTP I imagine as they did them for everyone. Minister built r500 k series engines as I understand, might be wrong.
Use the ones with a sliding liner in, which are normally single ear, would be my only comment. The ones without can nip the rubber hose when it closes up and cause leaks or issues later
The standard ford pump has an internal reg that is at 3.8 bar. The filter is part of the pump as well. The ecoboost pump is only used on the 485 and 620 with an ECU controlled unit to vary the pressure. If you don’t use the unit it will run at about 8 bar from memory
You are talking about the vac hose for the map sensor? Its usually available in various sizes so get something bigger if you can't fit it. Make sure it's vac hose so it won't collapse though and it needs to be a tight fit so what they have supplied is probably correct for one end and needs a bit of help the other
I know of one metric car with an mt75 type box but it was done from new so may have had mods done. A Mazda boxed metric car has quite a few tunnel mods to make it fit.
No idea if either will go in an imperial chassis but I doubt it
As there was never a eu4 k series in anything, rover or caterham you will struggle. The caterham eu3 was probably only a confirmation test based on the rover numbers to get it through in Europe. The current cars aren't even eu compliant for U.K., just the European ones are. Well apart from the 160 that could have been if they had decided not to sell it as an iva car
Wanted Long nose shower cap to suit screen mounted mirrors and fia bar (H6 on softbits site) for S3 If anyone has one they no longer require I would be interested
Pace (or whoever does their stuff now) do some single stage scavenge pumps. Don't know how the rates compare to the Titan one but if one could be mounted and have the normal drive pulley fitted it could be a way to get round it?
I have this one with that fixing in the right place I think. It's grubby and yes it does have splits by the mounting bosses at a couple of places. Yours if you want it, if it's any use or help.
Didn't know there was any different fixing locations mpi to vvc. What is different out of interest? I think I have one kicking around in the garage. If I do and it's the version you need I will let you know
Just went onto the guides section and following the links at the top of the page about required emissions limits it sends you to some weird site with loads of Chinese crap. Probably an issue with the linked site rather than this one but probably needs looking at
That number Simon gives goes to the iron triumph type caliper. The new ap ally ones are almost the same as an Elise front caliper if you wanted to get an idea of weight. You are obviously aware to use them you need complete new front upright assemblies.
Mine is the same with purple pump, a manual tensioner rather than the automatic one for the gold type. Perhaps the later purple were supplied with the auto type? The belt is shorter as well, I discovered.
I suppose a question would be why we're the rings replaced? In the past with a re-ring wouldn't the bores have been glaze busted to help the new ones bed in. Maybe this needed doing as well and as result they have never managed to properly bed in.
I think they are the correct bolt for the cars that have no bobbins fitted, 620 doesn't as far as I can recall. I guess if it's fitted to one that's not its native application then some mods will be required
