  1. Hi Colin, not sure the fan is working at all. History is I have a slight leak coming from the top of the rad so I ran the car on the drive to see if it was obvious where it was leaking from (it wasn't obvious) but fan never kicked in at all. I can't say that I have ever heard it run or seen it run for that matter. The car has been on the road since March 21 so it not that old hence my interest in establishing that the ECU is in trying to switch it on. If it is and I can test this with a multimeter it might be some thing as simple as a loose connection on the relay connectors, I believe this is relatively common. But it would be nice to know when the fan is being asked to run otherwise I might chase this round in circles. Thanks for the advice and the heads up I'll certainly check the connectors.
  2. I have a multimeter and yes please to the diagrams.... Just got to work out how I message you directly..... Not very intuitive this forum! Thanks Richard Edit.... For some reason your name doesn't have a "message author" button next to it unlike other people's
  3. Hi All, Some advice please as I know nothing about what diagnostic tools are available and to what level they can assist. I believe the cooling fan on a sigma engine is controlled by the ECU (an output from it) which in turn, switches on a relay.....etc..etc (waiting for a wiring diagram to confirm all this). Will a diagnostics tool allow me to see if the ECU is switching on the fan? And if so does anyone have any suggestions of a reasonably priced unit that would help with this and other types of faults. I'd also like to cross check the gauge in the car with the actual value the car is seeing as the general feeling i get is the gauge is an indicator it should not be relied on as a value. Thanks in advance.
