  1. Agreed - 1142 compund on the front (or even Green Stuff) works fine in standard brakes in he Caterham Academy and Graduates race series. Never heard anyone complaining about fade during 20 lap races.
  2. Sounds like a plan! Would be great to catch up too :) Cheers - Simon
  3. I've a Rover sump - it's pretty low-profile. You are welcome to use it as long as you need, I just use it to keep the bottom-end clean on any build I may be doing. Are you able to get to Fleet or Winnersh (M4/J10) to meet? Cheers - Simon
  4. I have a used assembly - just like in the pic. PM me your email address and I'll take a pic and send it. Cheers - Simon
  5. Has certificate of newness (allegedly) but no V5. £5-6k tops, maybe less after a look to see what is missing.. Fitting the panels is not easy to get neat.
  6. Ooh - thanks, I need another diff plug! Mankee - happy to buy yours, if you are selling it :) Cheers - Simon
  7. Window sash cord is easier than string - the effect is the same. Removing the head is really simple, though - especially as you will be removing the rocker assembly. Use double (steel) nuts on the exhaust manifold studs, to remove the stud, rather than having to loosen the exhaust to get it far enough away from the head to lift the head. The carbs/inlet manifold can always stay attached to the head.
  8. Pretty sure I have one - PM me, to remind me to check! Cheers - Simon
  9. Is that the one on eBay? That's me bidding..
  10. Just measured the current one - it's 48cm front to back overall, 45cm front-back through the bolt centres.
  11. 2 inches front to rear - that's a big difference! The dedion would be massively twisted? What size is your new one? I'll measure mine tonight - I know it's the older dedion one without the slightly offset forward lugs. The chassis has the dropped mounting lugs forward of the rear wheels. Cheers - Simon

    K-seal

I used K-seal as a temporary measure on 2 cars - A K-series and a Mondeo (2.5 5-pot. On both cars, the particles in the K-seal wore through the water pump seal within a few hundred miles - it makes a real mess as well. I've also tried the green sealant (can't remember the name), which did nothing at all. The only thing I used that seemed to work quickly and could be left in was a US product called Blue Devil. It worked on the Mondeo for several thousand miles, before I sold it. Also fixed a HGF leak on one of the kids' BMW 320.
  13. Anyone have a half-decent A-frame for sale? I'm looking to replace my rather rusty one. Cheers - Simon
  14. I have used rubber exhaust bobbins to mount a passenger Tillett. I think they were from a Clio - they are about an inch thick and have the correct meetric thread to screw into the existing captive nut in the Tillett base. You can then drill holes in the floor where appropriate.
  15. I have a single whisker - not sure what side - new in bag, if you are buying.
  16. GP - I'll be taking my old unit off soon - send me your address and I'll post you the innards! Chees - Simon
  17. You are a Gent, Sir! I'll send a PM as soon as I can work out how - your profile doesn't seem to allow me currently.. Alternatively, my email is below :) Cheers - Simon simonpa at gmail . com
  18. Just a couple of bin bags and expanding foam is enough. Line the seat and cockpit area with a big/thin plastic sheet (DIY store decorating sheet is fine), in case you mix too much foam. Put a pad on the seat to raise young'un to a reasonable height/depth, mix foam and put in double bag, put on top of pad(s) and sit them in the seat until it hardens. Remove bag(s), reshape with knife as needed, then wrap in Duck tape. You can also fill in the depressions left by the seat pad with more foam and re-trim as needed.
  19. Is your engine still in the car? I just put it in first with the handbrake on - that's enough to remove the front pulley. That or a screwdriver, if there is someone else to help.
  20. I'm looking, if GPB no longer needs it. I only need the lens, but happy to buy the whole thing. Cheers - Simon
  21. As it happens, I need a new lens, so I can send you my innards. These are the cheapest I've found: http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/rear-fog-120mm-x-80mm/ ...unless anyone has a complete unit to sell?
