    40mpg

    NVERONA 18MPG 😳 That's worse than a X Flow
  2. Atrocious spray job - If that car's for sale at a well know dealer I think everyone's hinting at, we ought to make sure CC find out

    Battery life?

Alan 4 Years - I'd say is par for the course, especially with consistant draining of battery whilst not being used/parkewd up for long periods. One way to increase battery life is to disconnect it whenever the car is in the garage [ bit of a pain I know ] by removing one of the terminals. So dig deep and buy a new 'un then look after it by removing the terminal. Mal
  4. Nice colour scheme Be nice to own an expensive toy for a couple of month's before changing 'ones mind', definitely one on the list to experience when I win the lottery
  5. Great for road use - just avoid the puddles and standing water. When you replace 'em get yoko 021's in 13". IMO the best road tyres for a 7" used as a daily driver.
  6. EFA Cool - thanks for the link Definitely a car of 'Ill repute' *thumbup* 😬 😬
  7. Dave Oh well ☹️ But 'Ill repute' - sounds like our type of machine
  8. What is/was - K2rum *confused* ebay link doesn't work on my dialup ☹️
  9. Ziplobb Great forum on airguns *thumbup* I have a Weirauch HW80 and am really pleased with it. However reading the forum there are many posts that suggest its worth getting it tuned There are no indications on the forum as to how this is achieved, do you know how to 'Tune' it THX Mal
  10. Clutch fork is different shape on the bellhousing end, and is unique to the ally & Magnesium housing> CRB will depend on the length of G/box input shaft

    MIG Gas Bottle

CO2 Fire extinguisher bottles, will also work - these are available in various sizes
  12. Best 7 book for Loti *thumbup* It may surprise you to know it's still available new. I bought my [2nd copy] only last year, off the inet from a German dealer who had several copies available at that time. Cost was £32 including P&P
  13. I wanted a bright Orange a few years ago, B4 the ford Focus orange. Was unable to get any paint codes at all: best colour I saw, though I don't have the specific details was a 1970's american Plymouth colour used on the rare roadrunner model. For my car I ended up up mixing my own. Just find a friendly paint supplier and ask to see the colour charts for yellow and red. pick and buy a coupla litres of red and a litre of yellow [the purest colour of both] and mix yourself. I was very pleased with my end Orange. Just make sure you mix enough to spray the whole car
  14. 4Used = ebay or any mate that'll sell you one 4New = Burtons,Quaife,TranX

    Ride height

Make sure you have minimum of 75mm under the sump when you're sat in the car. I set mine to 80mm under the sump with the car MT. This works OK for me on Welsh roads.
  16. Good 'un - shame it's in 'argyl' - I thought them were socks 😳
  17. Perhaps with the HPC sitting in background and owned it for a short time - you have 'DEALER' written on your forehead, and we all know how much we can trust them Just read the full post - you are a dealer 😳
  18. KGH Nice to have a choice though, unfortunately specialists want to 'Rip you off' and pi$$ you about like thy're doing you a favour ☹️ - ☹️ - Edited by - S47zz on 11 Jun 2009 07:14:57
  19. Cagey Now I know what production car the disks were originally fitted too, sourcing them is easy, I dare say the £25 I paid at the local motorfactors for a pair maybe on the high side, however the point about using the motorfactors was to ensure I bought the correct disks, at a sensible price, the guy at motorfactors measured the old disk and matched it to the correct new part using the measurements and sizes in his parts catalogue. Suppliers such as CC, Redline, etc want to sell you the part at a vastly inflated price, keeping you in the dark as to its humble [and cheap] origins. The same is true for updates, what clutch or starter motor do you use when swapping a X flow engine for a zetec? Raceline Dunnell etc will sell you one with the part number ground off !! When the reality is you need a bog standard SIerra DOHC plate or starter motor - sad I know, so you work it out. Perhaps it maybe a good Idea to have a list on this site for 7 parts which were sourced from production cars, so us as owners could buy the standard parts from any motorfactors, and save shedfuls of cash
  20. Disks are QH part number BDC 3351P, Still available ex stock from any motorfactors 😬 😬 Also originally fitted to Lotus Europa - Triumph Herald 😳 - Triump Spitfire Mk1,2,3 & Trimuph Vitesse
  21. Rob/Tyrone/Ged Took a trip down my local motorfactors, the disks are definitely triumph Spitfire and they're stilll available new ~£25 a pair - sorted Stub axle is a problem, not available new ☹️ though when the motorfactorist saw mine he reckoned it was easliy re-usable provided I used Loctite bearing retainer on the worn area [ it's only worn.002" and the loctite would hold it no problem. He mentioned he'd seen much worse being re-used I'd bought a new set of Mintex 1144 pads at Stoneleigh so no probs there, another problem which has reared it's head during stripdown was a leaky front shock, Ordered new un's from Redline yesterday So it looks good, disks and loctite arrive today, so providing redline deliver the shocks OK & nothing else materialises during the re-asembly I'll be blatting this weekend 😬 Not so bad after all
  22. Thanks Dave - but sourcing the parts is gonna be the major problem methinks ☹️
  23. Alan7 I know Looks a major problem to fix though - hope I make the fish n chip run Mal
  24. Just had a major problem with my front disks:- Somehow one of the bolts securing the caliper mount to the hub sheared off whilst I was driving, this bolt then smashed against the bolt heads holding the brakedisk, and the result was a smashed disk mounting bell. the front wheel locked and car slewed to the N/S, luckily I avoided hitting anything. Anyone else had this happen to them? After getting the car recovered to home and stripping down the front hub I found the above problem. Where can I source new disks which are solid 9" diameter x 3/8" thick, are these off Triumph spitfire or Mk1 Escort origin?? The pads the caliper uses are Mintex MGB 533 or 535. I also noticed the front spindle has worn, so I also need one of them too, is this off a Triumph or Ford - anyone know?? I know the front upright is Triumph [spitfire]?? though the front wheel PCD is ford at 108mm wheareas Trimuphs are 100mm I believe Any help would be appreciated. Another option would be to upgrade the front brakes, anyone done this on a Lotus S4, if so where did you source the parts and what did it cost?
  25. Seller selling it 'on behalf of a friend' is a dealer who used to own an Indie Lotus garage in Salisbury. Hence the silly price I used to work in Salisbury and all locals wouldn't dream of using that particular Garage, so his rep ain't up to much either. Definitely best to avoid this car, unless you can get it from the owner at the pre-dealer price ~ £1500 as mentioned by AlexT
